    Those sound driver's software can't be deleted there must be something else wrong that it's giving you the delete option

This is for XP

START - My Computer (RIGHT CLICK) - Properties - Hardware Tab - Device Manager button - click on the sound, video and game controllers - on the drop down menu you should see sound codec - either right click and UPDATE DRIVER - or delete sound codec’s and restart, XP will install suitable sound drivers.
If that doesn’t work then try installing sound drivers from the computer manufacturer.
If you have a big X on the sound codec or your third party drivers than it’s a hardware issue.
If replacing the drivers’ doesn’t work then it's a hardware issue. If you have onboard sound card then you will need to replace the mother board. I hope it's under warranty.

    If your having error messages and you've had sound before now you don't, then it could be a software issue or a hardware issue. With what little information you've given then we have to guess at what your talking about, why would you rate this inappropiate.

    Correction, you don't uninstall (delete) audio codecs because you can't. You can update them but not delete them. You delete the audio drivers for your audio hardware for they might be corrupted. You reinstall fresh ones from the computer manufacturer or the hardware manufacturer for the particular brand of hardware you have. If your in device manager and you don't see the audio codecs but see the audio drivers you need those codecs (there could be other things going on also). You will have to do a restore on your system. If none of that works you could replace the motherboard if the audio hardware is onboard. You might want to get a expansion sound card.

You didn't delete the sound device itself... You deleted the software telling your computer how to run the physical sound device on your motherboard. If you know what the name of the one you have is.. you can go out to the manufacturers website and download it's drivers. If your using a Major brand computer chances are the drivers exist at the computer manufactures website under their support section for the model of computer you have.

Compaq Presario v2000 ALTEC LANSING speakers not working
Hello,
The first thing that I suspect is that it couldn't locate the right drivers for installation. Still, I'd suggest that you try reinstalling the right drivers for you laptop. There's no harm reinstalling the drivers. Get the drivers for V2000 at this link, but you need to choose which OS are you using: Presario V2000 Audio Drivers. Take note too, that HP recommends that you delete your existing drivers first before installing the new ones.

The method of deleting and reinstalling can be found at Method 4: Delete and reinstall the original sound drivers of this LINK. That link includes the troubleshooting methods for audio/sound problems. You can go through the procedure that applies to you, but I'd still suggest that you do first METHOD 4.

You should tell the model of your acer or the sound card on it so that i can serach it for you. However you can search it by your own by simply going to the acer website and then search the model of your laptop and the go to the support and downloads.
