same problem says cartridge service station is stuck>? can someone help, I have replaced ink, made sure nothing in stuck in the printer.

Same problem - I can't do anything to get the cradle to move.

I have the same problem as beggy. I took the top cover off and found that the orange band that moves the cradle was melted on the "wheel" on the left end where it it wrapped around. I took the risk of carefully pulling that over without tearing the orange band. The cradle moves now, but when I try printing, I get the same message again, " print cartridge cradle is stuck. Clear jam then press OK." If there is another solution other than finding a new motor and replacing the old one, wherever that is, I give up. Places will fix a printer at the cost of a new one. Does it make sense to throw out an otherwise perfect printer because it's just as expensive to just buy a new one?

Solution for...

" CARTRIDGE SEVICE STATION IS STUCK " with a blinking red light...

it's a bit difficult...just fixed it today....

first of all...u have to be sure that your service station is clear from any other old ink that maybe dried....that stuck the movement of the service station...

if it doesn't work again...folow the next step...

1. u have to pull out the service station... ( the difficult one ..!!! )
2. under the service station, there is a small motor....just find a new one and change it..

it works...

.....i found this new motor in an old hp printer's service station that i have...

thank u

Screen says cartridge cradle is stuck but it moves freely

Ok there
You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

HP photosmart 7760 turn on and says printer cartrage cradle is stuck please remove jam and press ok. There is no jamb and I have tried many times to use the printer.

try to move the carriage manually left and right..and then disconnect the power and usb cable from the back of the printer and press and hold down the
power button for 30 sec and then reconnect the cables and try again...open the backdoor and
try to move the rollers in upward direction.Make sure the unit is connected directly to the
walljack.

Cartridge cradle is stuck

I have had this problem with my 7550 for a while now and I finally found this on the HP website and it seems to have fixed my problem, I also replaced all of the cartridges:

Issue While printing from an HP Photosmart printer, the printer screen displays Print cartridge cradle is stuck / clear jam and then press OK . The printer may also make grinding sounds. This can occur after a paper jam when another printer part blocks the cradle. Solution Follow these instructions to adjust the clutch on the printer.
  1. Disconnect the USB cable.
  2. Press the printer power button to turn off the printer.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  4. Open the top cover of the printer.
  5. Remove the print cartridges from the printer.
  6. Slide the cradle to the right side of the printer.
  7. Locate the clutch on the left side of the printer.
NOTE: The clutch is a flat, white, plastic component that rests just above the white roller gear wheel. In the HP Photosmart P1000 and P1100 printers, the clutch is black metal. Figure 1: Printer clutch c00020494.jpg
  8. Remove the rear access door from the back of the printer.
  9. Press the clutch firmly towards the back of the printer, while rolling the wheels in the back of the printer upward two full rotations.
  10. Release the clutch and roll the wheels up two more rotations.
  11. Reinstall the rear access door.
  12. Reinstall the print cartridges and secure the latches in place.
  13. Close the top cover and reconnect the power cord.
  14. Turn on the printer.
  15. Print a test page.

Color Cartridge Failure

You know, I'm not going to read the other solution. I know 100% FOR SURE, when a cartridge fails, it is dead and there is nothing you can do about it, but there is a good side. HP ink cartridges have a year warranty. Call them and tell them it failed, they'll send you a new one!
