ok, so we figured out that the clips had to come off to remove the top so I am glad to see this post to know that this was the only solution. What a pain this was and also to deal with all the clothes and get the water out. Sears is on my **** list now, the rudeness of the service department and the concept of having to wait for 2 1/2 weeks to get an appt when all I wanted to know was how to unlock the lid in the interim and being yelled at by their associates. I will be calling the main office of Sears on Monday - their service has gone disgustingly down the tubes! Thanks for answering my plea for help...very helpful indeed!

this stupid washer (top loader) just quit...nothing. we've plugged it in and out, and checked our outlet, (it's fine)

There are clothes in it, with water, and nothing is reading on the panel. NOTHING.

I can't believe we've had this washer for a little over a year, and paid this much!

Our top load just quit. Nothing. Socket is fine. Blankets in there, they are wet, and we are working on getting them out. Had the thing for about 18 months. UGH.

the only way to get the machine open is as the guru suggests - take the clips off which are really hard to do and you can lift the top off (save the clips and screws in a plastic bag - you can't really put it back on). the problem is that you will have water in the machine still and it will stink disgustingly if you have to wait 8 weeks for Sears to service it like we did. But actually the mold was building and it was making us sick - after much screaming/yelling/arguing and legal consideration we got a new machine - not the same one because that one is discontinued...of course!!..but the new one was almost identical - we went to the store to check it out with a salesperson first to be sure. Sears needs to really look into their service, moral and ethics - they actually ordered a different part than the tech suggested because I believe they didn't want to pay for it. Very inconvenient and the allergy to the mold took time to get over - I will never, ever buy any appliance with a service agreement from Sears again.

With the F 83 lidlock error comes the F 51 rps sensor error, whirlpool has put more sampling on there new board to decrease the error. I have noticed at the solenoid end that at the opening soap and dirt builds up causing some issues too but a new board has come out that has done ok,... so far. Part # W10201186 is the ccu.

Kenmore Elite Oasis HE Washer #27087. Doing a load of wash & wash & lock lid were flashing. Could not unlock lid & panel kept flashing. Unplugged cord for 30 minutes. When I plugged back in...

I would think the lid would unlock once you unplugged the machine. Check your owner's manual for any kind of "emergency reset" procedure. Perhaps the lock mechanism is jammed. Have you tried pressing on the lid or tapping it to see if that frees the lock?

My Kenmore Elite Oasis HE model number: 110.27072603 washing machine shows LID error code. It wont work at all.... went half way through cycle... help.

this washer has a lid switch problem...or possible main board failure, but lid does concentrate on the lid safety switch. If you remember when you open the lid it stops..well, its a safety feature and prevents tub from spinning with lid open...this one is more difficult to service if your not use to working on washers...try unplugging machine and leaving off for awhile...does the door lock? check switch for lid fault

Kenmore Elite Oasis 2709 water level problem

For low water volume - or "Trickling" effect...

1. Turn off the water supply to both hoses.
2. Remove hoses (one at a time so you don't get them confused)
3. On the washer side - look for a removeable screen inside wher you just removed the hose.
4. Using a small screwdriver - pop out the screen and reverse-flush it/clean it. It will likely be full of sediment and calcium deposits from your pipes.
5. Replace the inlet screens.
6. Re-fit the hose to the machine.
7. Turn on water supply valves.
8. re-try.

Hello, Kenmore Elite washer, doesn't drain properly.Leaves clothes full of water. We use the spin cycle quite a few times to get out as much water as possible. Where is the drain filter please tell me....

Hello. The drain filter, or strainer, is usually located at the bottom front of the machine, behind the kick panel. This is the small panel below the main front panel. Remove it and you'll see a hose coming from the drum to a canister. This is the strainer, and has a screw lid. Caution when opening this....There will be water. Be prepared.... Unscrew the lid, and remove the strainer and clean. If it is difficult to remove, try gripping the tab in the middle of the lid with pliers or channel locks to get some leverage. I always put a little silicone spray on the "O" ring and threads when I reassemble the strainer. This should solve your problem.
