How do I find percentage

Not all calculators have a percentage key. I think of percent as per cent, or per 100. You can always multiply by 100 to get the percentage.

For example, 0.23 as a percent would be 0.23 x 100 or 23%.

Good luck.

Where is the percentage button?

You can try pressing "alpha" or "2nd" and then pressing the key you saw the percent sign on.

here is a temporary solution in case that doesn't work:to enter a percentage up to write the digits before the tens and ones (if any, and if not, just type a zero), a point, and the last two digits.ex:
  • 56%=0.56
  • 28%=0.28
  • 132%=1.32
  • 4243%=42.43

To write down the answer, take all the digits, take off the point, if the percentage is 99% or less, don't write the zero on the right of the period, and add a percent sign.

How can i set a percentage key, i bought the ER-A440 used and im trying to set a percentage key but I have not been successfull, please help, Ihave been trying for hours!!:(

Hi. What do you mean by 'set' a percentage key. Is there a percentage key on the keyboard already? are you trying to set a rate? If you want to use it for discounting, you just type an amount to discount in REG mode and press %- to remove it. Please describe your use and I'll try to help

How do you calculate percentages on the TI 83 Plus?

Sorry, but you cannot calculate percentages at the pressing of a key. The calculator does not have a key for that. You will have to do it yourself.
To convert a decimal result to a percentage, multiply it by 100: MOVE the decimal mark two places to the right.
To convert a percentage into a decimal number, divide the number by 100: MOVE the decimal mark two places to the left.

Acer,Aspire 5720-4663 Math calculator: How does one use the percentage function?

Hi. Try this steps on using your math calculator for the percentage function.

Hope This Helps

Step 1. Note that not all calculators behave the same way as far as the percentage key is concerned. Thus, test the examples in this article on your calculator. If your calculator does not have the percent key or does not behave in the way described here, don't despair - you can still use it to calculate percentages, it's just that you will have to press a few more buttons.
Step 2. Let's calculate a tip on your restaurant bill. Suppose your bill happens to be $64.35 and you would like to leave 15% tip.
Type the following into your calculator: 64.35 * 15 %
Answer: 9.6525 or $9.65 after rounding.
Most simple calculators will give an answer right here without having to press the = sign. If yours does not, press = and see if you get the right answer.
Alternatively, you can calculate this percentage by typing in
64.35 * 15 / 100 or 64.35 * 0.15
Thus, you may have observed that all that the percent key did here was division by a hundred.
Step 3. Let's calculate a grade percentage - say you got 34 out of a maximum of 40 points.
To figure out your grade percentage type in: 34 / 40 %
Answer: 85
Alternatively, without the percent key: 34 / 40 * 100
Step 4. Let's calculate a sale price on those shoes that originally cost $139, but are now discounted by 35%.
On your calculator type in: 139 - 35 % =
Answer: 90.35 or $90.35
This calculation is amazingly easy with the percent key! Alternatively, you would first have to calculate what the 35% of the $139 is and then subtract it from 139:
139 * 35 / 100 = 48.65
139 - 48.65 = 90.35

My calculator will not let me add or subtract percentages.

I have a Casino MS-80S and yea, the percentage works different. As example to take 100 and subtract 10%, this is what I do: 100 X 10% - and then I get the answer 90 after I press the minus key. To add the percentage instead, 100 X 10% + will give me an answer of 110, after I press the plus key.
