We will experience this issue if the previously installed software is not removed completely.

Insert the software CD and click on uninstall and then uninstall the software.

Now restart the computer and then try to reinstall the software.

If the issue persists disable the firewall and antivirus and then try to reinstall.

How do i connect an hp officejet printer to a wireless laptop

Download and install the drivers & software necessary for your printer from HP's website (www.hp.com) on your laptop. After the software and/or drivers are installed, connect the printer to the laptop with a usb cable. As long as the software is installed the pc should recognize the printer as soon as the usb cable is connected. Then just print as normal.

My printer has been installed but it still states that there is no connection, what do i do?

Did you have the printer plugged into the usb port while installing the software, if so, you can't do that try re-installing and wait till the program tells you to connect to printer and computer.
You might want to check and make sure that the usb cable is secure in the usb port.

Solutions straight from HP...
If your HP All-in-One and computer are not communicating with each other, try the following:●Check that the HP All-in-One print queue is not paused (Windows) or stopped (Mac). If it is, choose the appropriate setting to resume printing.
For more information about accessing the print queue, see the documentation that came with the operating system installed on your computer.
●Check the USB cable. If you are using an older cable, it might not be working properly. Try connecting it to another product to see if the USB cable works. If you experience problems, the USB cable might need to be replaced. Also verify that the cable does not exceed 3 meters (9.8 feet) in length.
●Check the connection from your HP All-in-One to your computer. Verify thatthe USB cable is securely plugged into the USB port on the back of yourHP All-in-One. Make sure the other end of the USB cable is plugged into aUSB port on your computer. After the cable is connected properly, turn yourHP All-in-One off and then on again.
●Check other printers or scanners. You might need to disconnect older products from your computer.
●After you check the connections, try restarting your computer. Turn your HP All-in-One off and then on again.
●If necessary, remove and then install the HP Image Zone software again. For more information, see Uninstall and reinstall the software.

Computers not sensing scanner via LAN

Scanning over network usually requires software to connect. First go to the drivers page as below. Windows Vista | Windows XP, download the latest drivers (the Full Feature one) as well as the firmware update for the OfficeJet. Plus the "Update" files that's dated newer than the Drivers.
Upgrade the firmware (this will reset all custom settings in the OfficeJet like IP address) with a USB connection.
Run the full feature installer and if there is an option for Networked OfficeJet, then tick it. Also you may need to change/disable firewall for the installer to pick up the networked OfficeJet.
Scanning over the network usually connects with a customized TCP port. And most likely the Windows "Scanners and Cameras" will not pick up network scanners unless it's been defined manually (installer can do this part).

Original supplied software not allowing printer installation

On the off chance you have a bad disk and it has a corrupted file you can also go here and download from the website - click on the download only button and then install. If you have the same issue I would say your WHQL is corrupted.
