Shut down your laptop and disconnect all power sources. Turn the laptop over and lay it face down.

Remove the screws that secure the hard drive cover and remove the cover. Take out the remaining screws that secure the hard drive to remove it.

Locate the RAM (random access memory) and wireless card cover. This is often located in the center of the laptop. Remove the retaining screws and take off the cover.

Remove the RAM module by spreading the retaining latches on each side. Tilt the RAM module at an angle and slide it out of its compartment.

Disconnect the cables from the wireless card and remove the screws that secure the wireless card to the motherboard. Remove the wireless card from the laptop.

Locate the CMOS battery. It is about the size of a coin and is secured by a clip. Unclip the CMOS battery and remove it from its compartment. Insert the new one and reassemble the laptop.

Here's a link to a video that shows you how to do it too. http://www.ehow.com/video_4984398_change-laptop-battery.html Hope this helps! Don't forget to rate.

Hp envy of unlock passeord

Which operating system ???
CMOS (Complementary metal oxide semiconductor) refers to the battery-powered, semi-conductor chip located on an HP computer's motherboard.
It is where the BIOS stores important information regarding the PC's system configuration. CMOS is required for an HP laptop and its hardware to run stably.

Sometimes, however, it is necessary to clear CMOS, such as if you lose your BIOS password or your BIOS is corrupted.
Clearing CMOS on HP laptops varies depending upon the model, but for a lot of laptops, the process simply requires removing the battery for a short period of time.
Power down your HP laptop. Remove the AC adapter and any other peripheral devices. Turn over the computer so that the bottom side is facing up.
Ground yourself, either by touching a piece of unpainted metal or by wearing an anti-static wrist-strap.

Locate the battery. This will vary depending on your laptop's model, but it is usually located on the back, near the rear of the laptop.
Review your laptop's documentation to find the battery, if needed.
Many newer models require that you remove the battery by releasing or holding down one or two latches, then gently pulling the battery out.
Some models may instead require that you unscrew the battery from its compartment.

Leave the battery out of the compartment for at least 30 minutes.
Do not attempt to turn on the computer and do not touch the battery within that time.
Some HP laptops may require you leave out the battery longer to clear CMOS, others might take only 10 to 15 minutes to reset.
Ground yourself, then put the battery back into the HP laptop.
Snap the battery latch into place or screw the cover back on, if necessary.

Disable Fingerprint on an HP Laptop
Many HP laptops include a fingerprint scanner to enhance the security of your computer.
When the fingerprint scanner is enabled, the computer requires a fingerprint scan to log onto Windows.
Disable the fingerprint scanner if you do not need or want this feature.
With the fingerprint scanner disabled, you can log on to Windows using a password.
You can enable the fingerprint scanner anytime you need to.
Access the Device Manager on your computer.
Select "Control Panel" from your computer's Start menu.
Click "Hardware and Sound" and then click "Device Manager."

Find "Personal identification devices" in the "Device Manager" list.
Click the "+" sign next to "Personal identification devices."
This opens a list of all of your devices.
Click on "Validity Sensor."
Select the "Driver" tab at the top of the properties window and click "Disable" to disable your fingerprint scanner.
The button changes to "Enable" and you can enable the fingerprint scanner at any time.
Click "OK" to exit out of the window.

How do i repalce the RTC Battery in an HP G62 laptop

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for CMOS Battery or RTC Battery.I just read the manual and the link is below. It looks like you will have to take the laptop apart to get to the RTC Battery. It's in the service manual under the Illustrated Parts Catalog. They show a diagram of the parts and where the are located.

Am having hp g6 laptop and i forgot my password,so how can reset my password

Holy Cow a bios password?

Did you try removing the CMOS Battery?

You'll have to remove the CMOS battery. Most laptops require you to take the laptop apart to get to the CMOS Battery. It will be a silver battery about the of a nickel on the motherboard. The most common is CR2032. Also sometimes the battery will be in a vinyl covering and have a cable that attaches to a port on the motherboard. Whichever type you have you'll need to either remove the battery or unplug the cable and let the laptop sit for an hour or two. Then put it back, reassemble the laptop and reboot the laptop. With the CMOS battery out the computer will lose the date, time and password.

If removing the cmos batter does not remove the password you'll have to go to the manufacturers website and look for the manuals. See if the manual references how to reset bios. Most likely you'll have to short the jumpers or pull a pin.

Laptop will Not Turn on, Battery charged and laptop Pluged in.

I have come across this prob several times and after resetting the bios via the cmos battery removal and reset the computers started up again, the cmos battery can be located in several places depending on your machine, or you could type your model into a browser and try to find some specs as to where the cmos is and is it easy to get to, some more modern machines also have a cmos reset by holding the start button for more than 8 seconds, any way good luck and hope this helps
