Camera is flashing black and colours

Hi there, i am praying you can help me fix this problem. When I turn on the camera the display shows flashing black and coloured lines,if I take a picture the same image shows(black and colours).
I can go to view photos and these lined photos,plus my old photos already stored show up fine.
I just got twin nephews yesterday and I really want to take photos,Please PLEASE hekp me

taken batteries out left for 20mins,replaced but still same problem

Please remove the batteries from the camera and wait 20 minutes if possible set to factory setting .
