My toshiba 156-1 cash register is froze up-after unplugging, it still will not clear 40.00 on it and will not open.


Like computers, cash registers have a motherboard which also has a CMOS battery. If I'm not worng, I think you need to call a specialist if you don't know how to fix it technically. Check your cash regrister's warranty and take it from there. Don't open the machine to fix it, even though you can unplug the ac adapter the machine still has power running inside and you can affect the machine even worse.

I'll assume you mean your computers warranty.
All the computers I've purchased have used the purchaser information as warranty verification.Normally you don't have to register. If you've been prompted to somewhere read the fine print. It's usually a way to get you to submit to periodic offers by email as well as offering update checks (sometimes every time you turn your computer on, which is a good way to really slow your computer down). HP is a common culprit. Some software you do have to register and you'll usually find that in the help tab of the particular program.
If you did not buy the computer from a retail or computer mfgr. but you know it's still under warranty go to that mfgr's website and see if you can find the registration there.

I bought my laptop in march in July it just quit working sent it back to Toshiba I have the warranty. they tell me it will be fixed and back to me in 7-10 days 23 days later I get a call from Toshiba...


Personally, I wouldn't pay them 425.00 to fix 'damage' that you KNOW did not occur. Call them back and tell them that their assessment is incorrect and you expect them to honor their warranty and fix your laptop and get it back to you pronto. If not, you will contact the Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General for your state. If that doesn't get you anywhere, tell them to send it back to you without repairing it. Now, tell me what happened when it just quit working. It's possible we may be able to help you.

Register your computer for what?

If it warranty registration, then you need to go to the web site for that computer manufacturer.

If it is Windows you are wanting to register, the Microsoft.com is the place to go (I've never seen a reason to "Register" Windows but some people do it.

If it a program installed on the computer, then go to that program vendor's web site.

If you need additional instructions, please post some DETAILs about your issue, as a 5 word sentence provides no details as to what your problem is and without details, we cannot give you any kind of specific answer.

I have two Toshiba lap tops, I had the same problems which you have, tell you the truth, I took them to Bevely Hills factory warranty shop changed the mother board and then after eight months, I had some other problems, total five times in the repaire shop and finally passed the warranty. It is totally gone.

I know this can not help you at all, remember four years ago, Toshiba been suit, finally I got two years factory warranty for my lap tops, I wasted too much of my time to solve the problems but both lap top I can not use anymore,

Toshiba A-135 Notebook only works with a charged battery but will not work with the AC Adapter. Is the system port bad?


It could be that the DC jack (what you plug the AC adapter in to) has become loose from the motherboard, or it could be the adapter itself. Plug the adapter into the computer, and -gently- move the cord, just a bit. Does the end in the computer move around a little? If so, you'll want to get it looked at.

If the problem is with the adapter itself, you'll need a replacement. I suggest calling up Toshiba and see about getting a replacement adapter. If the computer is less than a year old and falls under Manufacturer's warranty, any parts that you may need should be covered.

The code you have typed if for Vista Operating System from Microsoft. If Vista will ask for product key code then this key will be valid. Other than its valid for any one else product.

So, please can you tell me where you try to use this product key?
