Question about InVion 5 GPS Navigation
My GPS was working just fine, then last week when I turned it on, I kept receiving the message "Signal too low". I thought since it has been rainy and clouding that was the reason for the message. Well, we finally had a nice sunny day yesterday and still no satellites.
There are two solutions to your problem. #1, It's possible your power cord is too close to the GPS Antenna on the back of your unit. Moving the cord away from the top of the unit should solve this problem... this is in cases where you get a "few" Satellites, but not enough to generate a "Valid" GPS Signal.
#2, The SD card and/or the Software is corrupted. In which case, you'll need to reinstall the software from backups. It's not uncommon for this to happen, as the unit typically sits in a blazing hot car interior. There is usually one file that causes a lot of troubles... and it typically gets corrupted when the unit is still "Navigating" to a route when the machine is turned off. That file is located in the Favorites Folder under User Data (DestinatorApps/Destinator/UserData/Favorites) The file within the Favorites Folder you need to get rid of is "FAVORITES.INI". The file isn't all that useful... the GPS unit will function without in and generate a new one after rebooting the unit. If you're worried about deleting it, you can always copy it onto your computer (I don't recommend putting it back in the GPS though).
The best way to prevent this problem in the future is to make sure to "Cancel" Navigation before turning your unit off. Good luck.
