Question about Zenith XBV243 DVD Player/VCR
Tape goes in, press play, tape is ejected and then it turns off. Can I clean it myself if that is what will fix this problem? If so, how?
I think that there is something wrong with the tape you are using. The locking mechanizm is stuck and when the VCR can't turn the reels it will eject the tape. I'm assuming that you didn't try other tapes to see if it acts the same. You can unstick the locking mechanizm by putting a pencil or something like it in the 1/4" hole between the reels on the back side of the tape. Just try pushing down on that brake release. This has worked for me. Good luck.
