Hello there.

Either your xbox optical drive is faulty and needs replacing, or if this only happens with one disk - the disc may be faulty.

I suggest trying another game in the console, if that works then maybe take the faulty disc back to where you purchased it, for a replacement.

Hope this helps.

Hi again, thank you for updating me.

As the problem is with all discs, not just the one you mention, you will need to contact microsoft support, who will either fix the faulty optical drive or replace the console.

Please click here and then sign in with your Windows Live account details, you will need to create one if you do not already have an account.

From there you can supply the information on your console to Microsoft and they will take it from there.

On my xbox, when i put a game in it keeps saying reading then it just opens the tray again, why is that

The usually occurs when the optical assembly cannot pick up the disk completely. It tried to read the disk but after a while it thinks that it might be something else such as obstruction or improperly inserted disk and then ejects the tray. You can try and purchase a lens cleaning disk or canned air, something to remove the dust or anything blocking some of the laser light getting through, this should be all you need.

My xbox 360 won't open or eject and games that I play. How can I fix this?

If you remove the faceplate you will see a small hole that you can put a straightened paper clip into to help the drawer eject.

This is a common problem when you have no disk in the drive. It helps to always leave a disk inserted, it is then less likely to get stuck.

When I insert gamedisk, the console display UNPLAYFUL DISK, Every time ,I want play game ,I must insert movie disk about 5 minutes, after that ,I take out movie disk ,and insert gamedisk ,console been read...

If your Xbox 360 will not play your games this is because of the sensors on the back of the drive overheating it is not normally the laser.

Luckily you can fix this yourself and get back to your games and to do this you need the proven Xbox 360 Repair guide.

Or you can send it in and they will fix it for you the repair will take about 4 weeks.

So it is not normally anything wrong with your drive just the overheating!

Disk Drive Problems

Your old xbox is not up to date, so it is reading it wrong. Just because the older they are if not updated on live it will read games and DVDs wrong.

Games wont play. Problems with Disk player

it might be the disk drive lens just inst reading. if you still have warrenty with microsoft call and tell them whats wrong. if not then it will be cheaper if you buy a new disk drive for your xbox 360 and have a game repair shop replace it or just take it to the game repair shop and they can tell you whats wrong for sure. but call microsoft first you have 3 year warrenty with microsoft depending around what time you purchesed your system.

Xbox not reading game

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I have tried a variety of things that occasionally have worked. Eject disk and pop it back in and then restart 360. Sometimes may require doing this a couple of times. If that doesn't work, try unplugging that thing in back with the orange light and replug it. Or simply, as it worked for my brother, just turn the 360 off and unplug the orange light thingy and don't play again until maybe a week or month, etc. He unplugged it for about 3 weeks and then it worked perfectly again. Sometimes the 360 just needs a little break. Even though this may be impossible for most to leave it alone for even a day, but its either you or your 360. make it live again!

Won't read disc's

theres a known problem with the hitashi dvd drive in the xbox 360.
the only solution to this is a home repair job, look up on youtube on how to do this, although this isnt recommended as it voids warranty.
so the best way is definitely just to ring microsoft and send ur console in for repair.
