Question about Digital Cameras

Back up battery

I've looked everywhere for Lithium Ion 3.7v 820mAh to go in my Polaroid t830 digital camera, I love the camera but must find back up batteries for my trip to Yellowstone. Saddles don't have charging ports. Deb

You could try www.batteryengine.com They do not list the exact camera, but may have one that will work. Alternately, you could use a portable solar charger system.

My camera will not turn on. The lens is extended and will not close. How do I fix this?

Try lithium ion or quality rechargable batteries if you have not already. Regular alkalines will not cut it, even if they are new sometimes. The battery type really can make a difference with digital cameras.

If it sounds like the lens is jammed or you try those batteries and it still won't move, then you've got a bigger problem. If you bought it less than a year ago and have your receipt (this is important), call Polaroid and they may replace it (assuming it's not too beat up looking or damaged). Be prepared to wait a few weeks for the replacement.

New batteries in, turn on and Polaroid comes on and then goes to black screen and off.

Not all batteries are created equal, especially in digital cameras. Try lithium ion batteries (Energizer Advanced or Duracell PowerPix) or quality NiMH rechargable batteries. Regular alkalines, especially some of the cheaper ones, are not recommended regardless of what the manual says.
