I have the power dvd but lost the keycode
I do not use propriety software if I can avoid it. WHY? loosing key codes is just one reason. Install VLC Player, KLM, Gom Player, CD Burner XP, deep burner, Image burn, Infra Recorder, Nero 9 Basic, Free ISO Burner or creator, and other free ware software works just as well if not better. You can download codecs for media player, Matrovska, FLV, Div X, Quick time player and use free video conversion tools so why bother using Power dvd if you can not find the key code? Yes, you can spend hours trying to find it, or download it or crack it, ask a friend for his copy. But How valuable is your time? If it is important just go to their web site and contact them or buy a new one. I have found that at time thinking ouyside of the Box can be very educational and cost efficient. Example: You have a older PC and have lost your Windows XP license or you disk is scratched. You need to re install windows but you do not like Vista or Windows 7 and your older desktop may not be able to run Windows Vista or Windows 7. It still works do you throw it out? I don't I still use it. Simple solution. Download Ubuntu, Xubuntu or any other Linux ISO file, Burn a CD or a DVD and reinstall another Operating System. Use it as a basic Internet PC or a Proxy server, Network it it is not that hard within a week you will learn most of the basics and wonder why you didn't try this before.Assuming that Your New PC or Laptop works OK. Or the old one can still download and burn a copy of the ISO file. Not only will you solve a problem you will learn to use open source software. And I dare say some of it is just as good and better than Microsoft software. I hardly ever had a problem with driver install, Networking tools are simple on Ubuntu, Mozilla Firefox is the standard Browser, Open Office, Brasero or KB3 burning software, educational software, DVD editing and playing software, Email, can be configured and lots more can be downloaded with support. They ask for donations but they offer free Operating systems that have a lot of advantages over Windows XP this includes security. And the Operating systems work a lot better without the hassle of using Anti virus, anti spy, anti mal ware. Not that there is no downloads for this but the chances of getting a virus on a Linux system is less likely and the only problem you will have is that you will not be able to play some windows games. Is the sacrifice worth the cost? Its a bit like comparing a Mac with a PC. Except Macs still have a few advantages with the Power Macs using MAC OS 10 and higher. But you can run Virtual Operating systems on Linux as well, providing your computer has enough ram and hhd space. Yes I still use MS products and we are forced into a system of compliance, as the education system and the Government all use M S products due to monopolizing business tactics used by M S and our own ignorance. (They offer good deals and training courses). Apple Macs are more expensive but have advantages in security and less prone to virus attacks but not as numerous and their OS's are designed to work with their hard ware.. But do they, I mean Does M S really use their software in particular server software for all their servers? I heard from College Teachers when doing my IT course that even M S uses Linux Server software where security and stability is required. (basically mission critical environments ). Banks and Government departments also use Linux. Why? UNIX is the Operating System that is used in a lot of these environments. Google it and some novice USER's as referred to End Users may learn something. I have waffled on a bit and stirred the pot. Oh and I noticed you placed LAP TOP's (I may be assuming the wrong thing and forgive me if I am) Usually these OEM versions of software are designed to be used on one computer with the license or key code at times 2. If used on 3, 4, 5, + (and sometimes reused on the same machine but have been previously registered) when you are on the Internet the software registers or is registered and if your license is for only one product there may be issues. It takes a split second for a computer with ADSL to transmit and receive details about your PC or Laptop. Including your serial code and the anti piracy software that may be included on the software you have installed. Their servers obtain this and store it, but if you have a license for 1 pc or one user and have used it on several they will know. Just as Microsoft and any other company that is in the BUSINESS of providing software will. This spy ware is legal as the company that makes the software is trying to prevent one CD with one license being used by a dozen people on different computers. Basically a bit like movie copyright. Other wise how will they make a profit and pay for the wages and other things they need to pay for in order to stay in business. I hope this helps.
