Question about RCA RCD158 Boombox
Hello. We have a portable RCA boombox with an AM/FM tuner, a CD player, and a cassette player (model # RCD158A). I just tried to play a cassette, and the "play" button will not stay down. I can listen to the cassette tape if I hold the button down at just the right place, but the tape stops playing if I let up even just a little. All of the other cassette buttons work. Any suggestions on how to fix? Thank you.
You will need to use the Forward and Reverse buttons on the CD player. Set the station by holding the button you want to set it to until it blinks and shows the station number.
To set more that 10 stations. Press the (>10) button and then enter 11 or 12 or so on and set the stations the same as above.

The laser is dead or damaged. Try swabbing the laser with rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip, then IMMEDIATELY blowing dry with canned air. If this fails, the laser is dead. If it is a Sony KSS-2xx series laser (try to peek in the laser slot to see the decal on it) you can get replacements online. If not, it's junk.

Hiya 2 possibles here:
1 - At the back of the cassette, there are 2 "tags", one on the left, one on the right. if those tags are broken out, it wont record. You put a piece of tape over the holes, that wll do
2 - If thats OK (dont know the beat box myself) but often you need to press play and record together
Hope one of those work!
