Start off by completely shutting off your PSP. Hold start, select, square and triangle and then turn your PSP back on while holding those buttons. Your PSP should now be reset to factory settings.
1: Remove the battery from the left side of the PSP while it is still onThe unit will power down instantly. Wait ten seconds and then replace the battery. 2: Press both clear shoulder buttons at the top of the PSP and keep them held while the PSP reboots. A "Recovery" mode will be initiated. 3: Press down on the control pad to locate a "recovery" folder. This will contain all of your PSP content, including games, music, videos and podcasts that are saved on the device. Highlight this folder and press the "X" button to begin reinstalling your content.
Warnings :
If you would like to reset your PSP while it is working normally, you can do so by going to the Settings menu and selecting "System Reset." This will get rid of all your content and restore the PSP to factory settings (and subsequently remove all of your content.)
Or try this for hard resetting :
1: Locate your Power button on your PSP. Push the power button up for 10 seconds.
2: The PSP will and should shut off. Leave the PSP off for 30 seconds.
3: Turn your PSP back on by flicking the power button up very quickly. If it doesn't turn on, try pushing the power button forward very quickly again. (sometimes you have to do it 2-3 times)
4: Your PSP should be working now. If not, then you may have a firmware problem.
Warning:
Do not have your PSP plugged into a power supply.
If your PSP doesn't turn off after 10 seconds (of power button being help up) then remove your battery and wait 30 seconds, and then replace

Hi there, Please turn off your psp. Before it turns on please hold on "R button". After that you will see a black screen. Please choose configuration, then choose "VSH MENU" (it should be enabled). Choose exit afterwards. Automatically your psp will reset. It will reboot.
From then you can have your psp reset anytime your psp was on. Simply push "select button" and choose reset. That's it!
For this u got to reset ur psp. The easiest way to reset the PSP is to do a hard-reset. This means holding the power switch in the up position for around ten seconds. This will then shut off the PSP. You may then need to flick the power button either once or twice for the device to come back on. The hard reset method is normally sufficient to bring the PSP back to life and resume use, although it may mean you lose your place in the game you were playing. The alternative to the hard reset is to drop the battery out of the PSP. While I don’t really recommend this, sometimes a hard-reset will fail and this is your only option. To do this, simply drop the battery out of the PSP by sliding the cover open, and then wait for a few seconds. Pop the battery back in and fire up the PSP. Hopefully all will be well. cheers
Boot up the PSP without a UMD inside. Go to Settings and cursor down to System Settings. Then scroll down the Restoer Default Settings. This should reset the PSP.
