- I too am looking for a reliable dehumidifier. I bought an LG dehumidifier and it does not shut off when the water reservoir is full, thereby leaking all over the basement floor. I am returning it. I have an old Hampton Bay dehumidifier that the previous homeowner left me, and it works great. I will not be buying LG products in the future.- Guest

- STOP! The LG model LHD45EL that was recommended, may leave you with hundreds of dollars of water damage. We purchased this same model and the bucket full function failed on several occassions during actual use and testing. In reality, in caused over $437 dollars in damage to our laminate flooring. I have since found other users on the internet who also have had problems of the bucket full function not working, thus causing the bucket to overflow and spill water onto the surface on which it sits. I would NOT recommend this model or this brand for that matter.- mooreselecSolution #1

For an average basement I like the LHD45EL. It is quiet and also has an Energy Star rating which will make it easier on your electric bill. One other nice thing is LG backs this model with a 5 year warranty. A local store that I have seen carry this model is Home Depot and it usually runs aroun $179.
