Re: Where is the waste toner cartridge for a imageRunner...
Let's use standing at the front of the copier as if you were making a copy as a reference. The waste toner bottle at the right rear bottom corner. I'm just guessing the dimensions on the panel that covers it, but I'm thinking 5" x 18"......and is held in place by 2 srcews. Remove that cover and you will see the rather ample waste toner bottle. This machine and its brethren in the newer mid volume machines use an arbitrary value of 250K copies as a signal to show the waste toner almost full message in the display. This is the only criterai used is the meter. I have yet to see a machine where the waste toner bottle was past half full at 250k. But since the copier is using the meter to determine when the bottle needs to emptied, it also means that if you dont reset the counter for the waste toner bottle you will get an E-19 (waste toner bottle full error) even if it is not even close to being full. If you are familliar with sevice mode you can reset the counter, and MUST do so whether you empty the bottle or not in order to make the machine happy again. Press additional functions, then the 2 and 8 together, then additional functions. Press the"copier" block. Then the top right tab on the screen that says "counter" press it. Then press "misc", then press "WASTE TNR". You will notice a counter to the right of this item which reflects the last time the waste toner bottle had been "attended" to.Once you have selected "WASTE-TNR" and it is highlit press the number 0 on the 9 keypad. Then press the "ok" tab at the lower right corner of the display. You should see the counter reset , and now everone can smile. Press reset till you return to the main screen and make another 250,000 copies. Have a good day! ............SPINAL.............

This is an error code dealing with the toner auger motor being bound up. Has the waste toner message been on for along time and the waste toner bottle not being emptied. Sometimes the waste toner counter has been reset several times without the bottle being emptied. This will cause the waste toner to back up in the auger mechanism. Thsi will have to be taken apart ( very tedious job ) and the toner removed from the tube. The auger spring and even some gears may have to be replaced. I've never had to replace the motor on any copier yet. Good Luck.
This is the standard Canon code for waste toner feed screw is locked. Most likely someone reset the waste toner counter and the waste toner has backed up in the auger screw. You should first empy the waste toner bottle located on the right side lower right. Remove the two screws and empty the bottle you find. You may even have to remove all the associated covers motors and circuit boards to get to the waste toner system. You will have to either clear out the auger tube, or replace the whole assembly. Check for broken parts, bound up screw, fused toner, etc. I've done this a couple of times and it's not fun. I try to make sure that I empty the bottle at every 1 million copy mark just so this doesn't happen again. Good Luck.
This is located on the left side of the copier. Look for the panel to be removed at the lower left. Remove the one screw and you should see the bottle. remove this and dump as much of the toner out as possible. Be sure to clean the neck of the bottle inside and out. I've been using a needle nose plier to puch a hole in the neck where the thin " EYE " hole is located. If this part gets enough static built up toner the copier will indicate to empty the waste toner when it actually doesn't need it. There is a photo cell beam that passes through this ' EYE. "
The waste toner bottle should be on the right side of the copier toward the rear of the copier. It is behind a pannel that is held in with 2 screws. Take the screw out & open the pannel & the bottel should be inside that opening it is a milky white container. Pull it out, it is rather large. When you dump out the toner make sure you have a plastic bag with No holes in it, it can be very messy if you are not carefull......Good Luck
look on the right rear of the machine, there should be a door with 2-4 screws. A big white plastic container should be there, remove dump toner and seal bag, replace. Make sure it is sitting properly, it uses a weight system.
The waste toner is collected inside the drum cartridge. It can be emptied by removing the drum cartridge assy and opening the opaque window and emptying into a large bag. The lines on your copies are probably a symptom of the drum being worn out, so replacement is probably a better option. The drum is good for 60,000 copies.
