This has happened to me twice, and i hate to say that it's time for a new DVD player. both times this happened to me, it was impossible to fix it. This happens to almost every DVD player after awhile. Might as well get a cheaper DVD player like I did. They last longer and when you have to replace them (with this problem), they last longer!

Is it happening with all the dvds you play on it, if so then you should clean the drive with a branded dvd drive cleaner.

INSIGNIA PORTABLE DVD

Use the A/V outs to the composite cable and connect to your Westinghouse A/V jacks.

On the Insignia player, press the Source button until you see A/V OUT on the insignia players screen.

Set your Westinghouse to the A/V input port you have connected the Insignia player to and VIOLA...you should have picture and sound.

Try playing a regular CD first and take it out if it played. Then put the DVD and it will play fine because the player just realign its lense. Hope it will help

Battery charge

the battery is dead. that happened to me and i had 3 choices: 1)buy a new dvd player 2)buy a new recharable battery or 3)keep the portable plugged to the wall while i watch movies. i chose number 3 because i usually just use it at places plugs are available. but yeah, the battery is dead.

The laser has become damaged/worn-out. There is no fix for it as replacement parts are not made for it.
