Replaced bulbs on the eiki 4500 projector the timer would not reset but projector powered up ran around 3 hours total then we tried to power up the projector the next day and it would not power up and the lamp 1 light was blinking red. We opened it back up (this projector is 30 ft in the air) made sure the bulbs was in tight enough but it resulted in the same result. #1 bulb light blinking and cannot reset bulb timer and will not power up. Not sure what to do from here and we would like it to be ready for christmas eve services.

Hello

I guess you did not correctly rest the timer and that is the cause of the problem. To reset the timer correctly

Turn on the projector.

Press the "MENU" button and the on-screen menu will appear.

Press 3/4 button to remove the red frame pointer to the Setting Menu Icon .

Press the 6 button to move the red frame pointer to the Lamp Counter Reset item and then press SELECT button.

The message "Reset Lamp Counter?" appears. Move the pointer to "" and then press SELECT button.

Another confirmation dialog box appears and select "" to reset the Lamp Replace Counter..

This should fix the problem.

From the manual: " User name and password are not set in the factory " . Don't enter anything.

I changed the bulb and the power lights wont come on

Certain Mitsubishi projectors have a built in bulb life timer, and are programmed to not allow a projector to power on unless the bulb is replaced and the bulb life timer is reset. Its a simple process:

1) Make sure your projector is plugged in.
2) Make sure the main power switch is on.
3) Hold the left arrow, right arrow, and power button on the control panel of the projector (not remote) for 3-5 seconds.
4) Release...

This will reset the bulb life timer to 0000 and allow for normal power up barring any other unforeseen issues.

Our EIKI 4500 DLP projector work for about 40 mins then starts to power cycle. does it sound like the power supply to you. do you know where to get a replacement power supply for it?

This model has sometimes poor power supply boards.
replacing them is a terrible job, original boards are only available through official EIKI distributors.
partnumber = 9NK5600204232 ( manufacturer is SHARP)

the lamp units should be properly aligned with the 2 very tiny switches
between them. If not lamp led will blink.
If lamp led is continuously on, lamp timer has to be reset, according instructions that come with new units.
Original lamp modules are AH-45001 and AH-45002, two different
units needen for 1 projector, reset procedure is different for each lamp !!

It sounds like it is overheating. Are the fans all working? If so, try opening the casing and blowing all the dust out with a can of air from Staples/Office Depot. If the fans aren't working you may need to replace them.
