Re: need phone #s out of old phone
You can't, the phone has to stay on to be connected via PC Suite/Studio to your PC to synchronize your contacts etc...
Unless your contacts were stored on your SIM card, or the phone stays on long enough to allow you to copy them to your SIM card, it's too late now but for the future, back up your phone to your PC, using the software provided by the Manufacturer.

the sim card is programed with there information, directory, computer controlled information, minutes used, incoming and out calling, all the phone control access. it not worth trying to change providers, i would just get another phone provider, now you get another sim card from another provider and trash the old sim card and put the new sim card. but you will not get all the warrants, phone assistance because you are using some one else phone, just get a new phone and sim card it will be easier and less hassle for you.
I just had my phone loop into an endless power cycle this morning, and this is what I did to get my pics and ringtones off:
1. Pull out the battery. 2. Hook the phone up to the computer with a data cable. The phone screen should show "battery required", and should stay on. 3. Open up BitPim (other programs may work) and get the files you need.
Once I had my files saved from the phone, I went ahead and tried to get the phone to turn back on normally with it still plugged into the computer. As soon as I put the battery back in, the phone screen switched to the charging screen while still off. I power cycled it this way a few times, then unplugged the cable, and powered it on, it rebooted twice and finally powered back on normally. Hope this helps you out!
There is a program called bitpim if you have an old phone with the contacts and a usb cable or your friend has a usb cable, you just plug your friends phone into bitpim load the contacts to the program and plug your phone into the computer and download it doesnt effect either phones and everything stays the same. hope this helps
