Quasar AC unit operating costs

I have an old Quasar model HQ2121MH unit- 115v,60hz,1pa -with a capacity of 11,500btuh. 10.1A and 1.15kw.
My question is what does it cost to run it. I am in RI and have a difficult landlord.
Thanks,
Donald

$.1545 X 1.15 per operating hour. Depending on actual voltage it could be a little less. Computes to $.177675 cents per hour of operation.

I have an old (25 yrs or so) through the wall Whirlpool ac. I plugged it in and it runs and cools but it is noisy. Sounds like the fan is hitting or something. When I switched from Hi cool to Low cool...

A through the wall AC unit that has lasted 25 years or so? That's amazing and unheard of !!!

iI it's tripping a circuit breaker, there's an electrical problem with one of the circuits, within the unit and that can be dangerous. Certainly repairing it is an option. But, at 25 years old, I doubt that there are many parts for that model left in existence. Not to mention that the cost of troubleshooting it, parts and labor may cost almost as much or more, as a new Energy Efficient unit would cost.

You have to admit, you got your monies worth out of it over the past 25 years. So, if it were me making the decision, I'd opt for a new Energy Efficient model, with the same cooling capacity as your old one.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Should the drain plug be in or out when running a Quasar HQ2121MH window mounted A/C

it should be out and connected to a drain to allow condensate to collect in the drip tray from the evaporator coil and then run away down the drain.

all the best

this is normal, do not worry that harmonic vibration type noise just tells me that the unit has a full freon charge and is running great, sit back and enjoy

How many watts does an ARP-3012 draw?

Assuming you are in the United States....

This unit should work fine on a 15 amp circuit assuming there aren't several other loads on the same circuit.

You didn't say what the BTU was for you unit, but there are about 3.41 BTU's per watt. Multiply the btu rating of your unit by 3.41 and then divide by 115 or 120 (your house voltage in the U.S., use 220 for Europe) and that number is the amps.

Quasar model #HQ2101Kh-compressor doesn't run

It is an overload protection for your compressor. You can replace it any model as long as the same capacity.
