Re: Scan options troubleshooting
There reason why it says "NO SCAN OPTIONS" is that, the printer wasnt able to find where the scan document/picture to be sent after scanning. I would like you to follow the steps.
Note: make sure that you already installed the Software on your computer before doing the steps.
1. Open the Solution Center that is usually located on your Desktop. You will see an icon there named "Solution Center".
2. When its already open, click on Settings,
3. Click on Scan settings and preferences
4. click on Scan to...setup
5. clik on Destination List tab
6. You will see there two columns. the first one is the Scan to and the second is Front Panel Destination list.
7. click or highlight each program frm Scan to.
8. click ADD arrow.
Note: do it one at a time to add all programs to the fron panel destination list.
9. then CLICK OKAY.

no scan option means scan setting are not set on the printer.
Before you can scan directly from the printer control panel, you must have the printer's Full Feature software package installed on your computer .If you ran the installer and installed everything, then scanner software should be installed on the pc.there must be solution center icon on the computer,as well.Below are the troubleshooting steps for no scan options issue.
STEP 1:Download the Scan Diagnostic Utility (click on the link below)http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&lang=en&softwareitem=oj-90927-2download and run the tool.select the product and click on diagnose.if the printer is not in the box.skip this step.
STEP 2: Set up the scan destination list
click on the solution center icon on the computer
click on settings on the bottom, click on scan settings, click on either scan..to setup or button settings
click on scan to setup (front panel list)
if this is what you have, then you should transfer all items on the left- hand side to the right-side by clicking on one item and clicking on add until everything is transferred.click on update device.
it should look like this.
try scanning to pc again
you can also try to scan from the pc using the solution center software
if the steps above fails, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the software or check this link out for no scan options
this is a very normal problem with this printer..do one thing unplug the USB cable from the printer..then if its not working go unplug the USB cable..insert the CD go to my computer..right click on the cd icon explore>>util>>ccc>>uninstall l2..after that restart the system...do a complete installation..issue will be resolved...
Make sure your computer is on. Insert the document you want to scan. Click on the scan button on the printer. The document will automatically be scanned and saved in your computer in mydocument under mypicture->my scans folder.
Insert the document which you want to scan in the scanner. From your computer invoke HP Solutions Center. There you will see options to scan the document.
Please note for both the options you must have installed all the softwares which came with your printer.
NO SCAN OPTIONS message comes when the available scan options in the computer are not detected by the destination list in the printer. there is a simple a way get it going, i will tell you how.
1) Open the Hp solution center software Make sure that the right printer is selectedin the tabs. 2)goto settings 3)goto scan settings 4)goto scan to option 5)there you need to transfer the contents from the available list to the front panel destination list. try scanning now and it should work fine.
