Question about ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard

2 Answers

No signal my computer turns on, all the fans work, but the screen is blank. it says there's no signal. i upgraded my cpu and video card, but that was a little over a month ago and it's worked fine up until now. i've tried putting the old ones in and the same thing happened. no signal. tried replugging, changing the ram, using different heatsink, changing monitors. thought it might be the power supply but i figured i would've had that problem from when i first upgraded. you think it might be the whole motherboard? specs asus p5n-e sli mobo nvidia geforce 8600gt intel core2duo e8400 3g liquid cooling 500w power supply vista ultimate 64 bit 4 gb ram

If you have a seperate video card in that motherboard. Take it out and reseat it, then try again. If you have a spare video card, try that.

Computer screen goes blank

May be the Graphics Card is bad? If you boot to safe mode is there any change? Need more info? Is Graphics a PCI card or integrated adapter? You didn't post the computer Make and Model or the OS you are using?

I have an hp pavillion a6500f that soon as it is turned on has a constant alarm and is not sending a signal to the monitor. Screen says no signal and then remains black.

If you mean a constant beeping, open the case and see if the CPU fan is running, check also that the heatsink is firmly attached to the board, this noise usually points to a n overheating CPU, if you get no activity on screen,it is because there is no signal being sent to the monitor. Do not operate the computer until you have checked the fan is working, you need to establish if there is power getting to the fan by testing with a multimeter on the motherboard cpu fan pins. If you are getting power, replace the fan, worthwhile removing and regreasing the CPU and making sure it is firmly in place.

If there still is no signal, replace CPU, but also try a different graphics card (faulty video will give 9 beeps).

After that, check the ram is firmly in place.

Screen will not stay on, getting message no input signal

The message input signal means no signal is being feed to the monitor.
Check the cable use to connect the monitor to the video card.. fix and secure the connection.
If the computer is reading and you know its working, check the video card.
Turn off the CPU disconnect the video card from the motherboard and reconnect.
Try to open your CPU and see if it reacts with your monitor. If nothing happens replace your video card

Monitor is blank

No.. If this is a video adapter issue, you'll still be having a blank screen and not 'check cable' signal. This might be some internal issue with your monitor. You don't you try connecting it to your laptop (if you have) or your friends' comp. And open the CPU cover and see if the graphics card is proper by giving it a through look. Look if the graphics card fan spins. If it doesn't have a fan, switch off the pc. open the cover remove the gcard from its port carefully and then inspect if for any burnout of loose parts.

If your gcard is fine, i suggest you give your monitor for service..

NO signal error

Hi sir,

Hope this will give you ease of mind and or hints. The No Signal error screen message is normal it depends how much delay it responds to (design or default time delay) the video card down to CPU and control units. The blank screen can be resolved by turning off the screen saver(s) you have and even to BIOS mainboard setting; disable the "turn off monitor after how many seconds" or related menu, etc.. Hope you can manage to enter BIOS maiboard setup.

Best regards,
