Where are you? There is a good repair center in Penrith. But that's no good to you if you are in Wyoming.

My ipod classic is only playing out of 1 headphone, it is the same with all headphones

Step 1:
Your trusty iPod has been a close and reliable friend for a long time but one morning only the sound of air comes through the headphones. The likely culprit is a loose or broken headphone jack that is in need of repair. Rather than spend an exorbitant amount of money to have someone fix it you can easily make the repair on your own and have your iPod friend back. Read on to learn how to fix a broken headphone jack for a fifth generation 30GB or 60GB iPod video.

Open the iPod case with a small flathead screwdriver by slipping it under the centerline of the case. You will find a series of clips you have to release in order for the case to open up about an inch. Locate the headphone jack connection and verify that there are no broken wires. Fix broken wires quickly by twisting the wires back together and wrapping with electrical tape. Test the iPod for sound by connecting your headphones to the jack. Replace the wires completely if you find static coming from the iPod jack. Fold a business card twice so that it wants to unfold and slip it into the case over the blue sponge. This creates the pressure needed to hold the jack in place and allow a solid connection. Push the case together without engaging the clips on the side and test to make sure the jack is now working. Try a thicker business card or fold the first one again to get enough pressure onto the jack connection if the first card didn't fix the problem. Press the case fully together until the clips click into place. Use extra care when inserting your headset to ensure the jack remains in place.

Whenever I plug in my headphones, only the external speaker plays. How do I fix it?

Like 99% of the Visual Land products, the reset button usually fixes these issues. Try that, if not make sure the head phones are fix right with the player. If you have to force the headphone jack into the player of if it is loose, that could cause the player to believe there is no headphones pluged in. The V-Touch as a slandered, 3.5 mm headphone jack (most headphones are 3.5 mm) If you still have issues, you will have to format the player, doing so will erase ALL data that you have put on the player restoring to factory settings.

Headphone jack requires bending the headphone jack to a side to get stereo. this is the coby mp725 16 gig love the unit. got it as a gift. had to send my first unit in due to headphone jack not working....

This problem is common with a lot of MP3 players. It is caused by excessive movement of the headphone jack and causes the headphone jack has worked loose from the circuit board.
To fix this problem the MP3 player needs dismantling and the headphone jack needs resoldering onto the circuit board to get the headphone working properly.

Hello, headphone jack is loose, i have to hold the jack and press ir against an angle to make both chanels work. walter

Hi Walter,

If the headphone jack is loose you can try to use the USB headset (If there is one) or Bluetooth.
If you wanna fix the headphone jack yourself you can find a very good step by step guide here.
The repair service will take about anything from 40$-60$ to repair it.

Good Luck!

NO sound comes out of the headphone jack or the bottom plug in

All you need is a new headphone jack as yours may be messed up, or it may need to be checked as the cord may have came loose and just needs to be reconnected. They are pretty cheap to replace so it will not cost alot to fix.

Jack on headphones broke off in my iTouch

You might be able to get it looked at under warranty if it's less than a year old.
Otherwise, have a look at this:http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/First-Look/iPod/iPod-Touch You'll need some tools to do it, but they can be bought from the iFixIt site.
If it's jammed in there really badly you might need to replace the headphone jack itself, which may be part of the logic board. Could be a pretty expensive repair job if you choose to DIY. I'd definitely see if Apple will fix it either under warranty or for a fee. Much easier.
Anyway, iFixIt has all the parts for the iPod Touch here: http://www.ifixit.com/Products/Touch-1st-Gen/132
Good luck!

Headphone jack problem

Most likely the solder points inside the unit where the headphone jack attaches to the system board have come undone. If you know how to solder, you could open the unit and fix it. If that is not an option, you could resort to using the other headphone jack instead assuming it is not damaged as well.

Problems with Headphone and USB plugs

I share the same problem - I'm worried it's due to routine wear-and-tear on the jacks, so the connections are no longer solid. I hate to think I need to get it serviced for this. Usually buying a new cable has worked, but that gets expensive too... Anyone have a fix??

Headphone jack on archos gmini 220

I find the ground contact, the first one from the outside, tends to bend. Just bend it back a bit with a small screwdriver (eg. for eyeglasses) or manicure scissors.
