Lets look at that fried timer
A leg on the timer with a big old fat red wire goes down to the heating element. over time the contacts take a beating from the arcing. To test it remove the red wire from the terminal marked RH and clip one lead of an ohmmeter to that terminal. Then check for continuity between that leg and any other terminal on that there timer. if you cannot get a reading. you have a bad timer. Turn the timer knob to various spots on the timer dial to do a thorough test. Onward to today's fabulous timer deal:
You kiddin me $108? That is high even for a fab price. I would do this before buying a new timer.
What can you loose at this point? Remove the timer from the dryer. Take the small shank keeper off the shaft. If it breaks toss it, it ain't nothing but a mechanic stopper anyways. Next remove the 2 screws to the cover and CAREFULLY get that plate off without disturbing the innards. Look for that burn contact and file it down smooth. With any luck ya might get it ta go a while longer. With a price like that the timer ought ta have solid gold contacts.
