Are you trying to install the TI-89 version of Notefolio, or the TI-83/.84 version? The two are completely different.

  • Anonymous Dec 21, 2010

I am using the one that say its for the ti-89

  • kakima Dec 21, 2010

What version of the operating system do you have on the TI-89? Press F1 and select "About..." to see.

  • Anonymous Dec 21, 2010

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

What other APP's or APP files do you have on the calculator?

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Calculator OS is not the problem. Hopefully, you have 3.10 OS for your operating system. Please list the APPS you have on the calculator, and APPS that you may have been trying lately.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Have you tried to take everything off the calculator including APPS, and downloading notefolio by itself? If that works then I'll post what the exact problem was so that you will know.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

I tried to take everything off my calc but couldnt figure it out :)

    How do i do that

And i have very few apps...

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

See if you can back-up what you have on the calculator with Ti connect. to the computer. Did you download something lke Ti reader or Ti study cards? I think you have something in the main folder, APP varible or something that is causing the conflict.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

that this is the very first app i have tried to install, I just have a couple original apps, however a long time ago it seemed like a lot of them disappeared.....

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

i dont have either of those and i didnt try to install them the very first and only app i tried to install was noteflio

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

To do a reset 2nd-key, then MEM same as the 3 key. Then F1, then 3.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

So you never got the calculator to download any thing? If so we may have a windows 7 64 bit problem.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Ok its complete... I have the same apps on there as before..

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

You can't tll me if you have any APPs on the clculator? What does 2nd key , then MEM. What does it say for flash ROM free?

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

all memory is 0 except system which is 68158, ram free 193986, flash ROM free=2621362

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Ya, those aren't APPS. That is embeded programs. You are using Ti connect. Right?

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

You can go to cnet.com and download and install, Free Windows Registry. I'm not sure if it will work for windows 7 64 bit. I'm beginning to think it is the 64 bit that's the problem. Or can you try a 32 bit xp machine?

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Yea, not to restore right??, but when i try and install noteflio i am using ti-connect yes

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

ok i have an old crappy comp in my basement with xp i will go try and get ti-connect and then install noteflio

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Ya, you have nothing on the machine to conflict with. It has to be 64Bit problem. And that can't be fixed. Try an XP machine or the Free windows registry. Registry work for me but, I have 32 bitmachine

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Keep me informed. I haven't sleep jet. But, will get you on your way. So you can get the most out of your calculator.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

Let me know if you get any errors. I might be able to fix it real fast.. See that is why the first thing I asked was what you OS. I thought it might be that or a Ti reader APP conflict. Ti did tell me about the 64bit problem. I was hoping not to run into it.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

If you can get notefolio creator on you old xp machine you'll might have to have the registry fix. But, its worth it if you can get things going.

You probably have a windows 7 64 bit OS problem. Nothing can be done with TI downloads because, it is incompatible with TI connect. Try another machine that has more of a 32 bit OS.

hen you go to another machine, if Ti connect won't install you might have to install Microsoft Netframe 1.1. at least. The computer probably tell you.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

(PS: my window 7 comp was telling me to install netframe 1.1,,,, i did and nothing happened o well :) )

Try this procedure. See if we can get your Windows 7 to work. Understand it still might not because, of the 64 bit. However, it's worth a try, and Ti will tell you if it is because of the 64 Bit. Be sure to post on this page if it works.

    Windows Vista and Windows 7:
        • Go to your Start Menu and search for Device Manager.
        • Open up Device Manager.
        • Scroll to the USB controller and click the .
        • Turn the calculator ON then connect the USB cable to your PC. A new device will appear on the
    USB controller.
        • Right-click on the new device and choose Update Driver Software. The Hardware Update Wizard
    will appear.
        • Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
        • In the search field type in C:\Program Files\TI Education\Driver Files
        • Click on Next to finish installing the driver properly
        • Once the driver is installed click Finish

    4. Try a different cable and if possible a different computer.
    5. If trying different cables/computers fails, please contact us. Attach a system information file to the
email reply you receive from us.

    To get system information:

    Windows Vista / Windows 7:
       • Go to Start Menu and search for System Info
       • Once loaded, click on File and choose Save
       • Name the file FirstNameLastName.nfo
       • Please check to make sure that system info file(.nfo) is the selected type of file
       • Attach the .nfo file to the email reply

Ti-89 titanium diagnostics

There is no DiagnosticsOn command in the TI 89 Titanium. The command exists on the TI83/84PLUS where it displays the r and r^2 coefficients. On the TI89 , the correlation coefficient and the determination coefficient (r, r^2) are displayed by default among the statistics if THE REGRESSION MODEL includes them. If they are not defined by the regression model they will not be displayed. In short, you do not have to turn diagnostics ON.

My TI-89 Titanium's screen froze. Well actually, the cursor kept blinking but none of the buttons worked. I got it to restart using the (-) and ) button trick, but rather than going back to normal it went...

Hi kelsers,

You need to re-install your calculator's OS. After this process your Ti 89 Titanium will operate properly. If you do the process below make sure you use new batteries.

Warning!!! If you do this procedure make sure that your computer and, calculator are connect. Use Ti Connect software and, make sure you can install the OS on the calculator without any interruption. At any time even at the very beginning of this process, if your computer or, calculator gets interrupted or you have a power failure during the installation of the OS, your calculator will be destroyed. So not attempt this procedure during a thunder storm.

You can use the Ti OS Downloader but, you will have no idea what OS is stored by the Ti OS Downloader. So, I suggest following my instructions and, installing the newest Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.10v.

Procedure to installing the newest Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.10v.

You can also get the latest copy of Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.10v by going to the Texas Instruments web site. You can get to that site instantly by clicking, "Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.10v." Once your at the Ti site click the Download Item, Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.10v. Next you can login or, click "continue as guest". I'd would click the "continue as guest". Once you have click, "continue as guest" the Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.10v. will download to you. Click, "SAVE". And then a folder will pop up. It is probably a folder that you download too. If so, you may want to change it and, "Save as" to this folder, "My Documents \ My TI Data \ Downloads". You can also go back and, download the Ti 89 Titanium guidebook too, if needed.

Link your computer and calculator with the USB cable or, Direct Black Link cable that came with the calculator.

Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the [APPS] key, and while holding the [APPS] key, replace the battery and turn the unit on. On the older TI-89 you should see "Press I to install code...", and you should press the [9] key to continue. But, on your Ti 89 titanium it should say, "Waiting to receive..." or, "Waiting to received OS...". Now you need to follow the instructions in the paragraph below to restore the calculator's operating system.

Next, drag the Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.10v. that you copied earlier to "My Documents \ My TI Data \ Downloads" out of that folder and, drop it in the "Ti Connect" icon on the desktop. Next the OS Downloader Warning will pop-up. Click, "OK" to continue and, the new OS will begin to install. The Ti Device window should pop up and, click on to the port where your Ti 89 Titanium is located, USB1 cable or Direct Black COM1. Just click, "Select" and, the OS will continue to download. Upon completion the newest Ti 89 Titanium OS 3.01v. will be installed.

When I turn the switch on, ti-89 titanium does not turn on.

If you connect calculator to computer using Ti connect device explorer you might be able to see what files are on the calculator. I don't know if you downloaded from the web but, 3rd party programs and shells tent to miss up the calculator. This would able you to delete out possible problems which could be re installed later.

Ti 89 Titanium

The only option or keys that will work is the ENTER key and the arrow keys. Try to get your arrow key to work by arrowing down and hit enter hopefully change you to something different.
Next, if at all possible can you hit the MODE key or get into the mode. If you get into the MODE select F3 and then arrow down twice or all the way to the bottom and at APPS Desktop select 1:OFF and then hit the ENTER key. Next, What I really think you need to do is reinstall the Ti 89 OS software. To do so you would need to connect to your computer or another Ti 89 Titanium to your Ti 89 Titanium. If you have Ti connect computer software (from the Ti site) connected to your Ti 89 Titanium it might help you more in troubleshooting any further problems too. You might be able to delete corrupt files that would free your calculator up and start running better.
