If your Tracfone has an uparrow on the zero (0) key, after entering a character, IMMEDIATELY hit the 0 key. The phone will change the case of the previously entered character AND change case for subsequent entries.
If you're too slow typing the 0 key, you'll get the characters assigned (0, +, etc.) to that key.
Press the "Menu" button and then the asterisk "*" in quick succession.
Pressing these same two buttons again will lock the phone.
(Note: the "Menu" button is the button in the center of the up, down, left, and right arrows. The asterisk "*" button is on the bottom left of the keypad.)
if you have the manual; or even go online get pictures of the phone with a description on the parts of the phone in detail and you should see where to hit a button on the phone to make it lock the keypad. or try different buttons on your phone when the phone is closed it will lock. My motorola phone to lock the keypad it is on the left side third one down. but you have to do it when the phone is closed not open
Check and make sure that you are in an area that has full service. If that still doesn't work, you need to call a tracfone operator because they will have a complex way of how to solve this problem. By the way, i suggest buying the card that doubles your units for life, it is definitely worth it! It saves you over 50% of your money. =)
