Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

My HP laserjet 5 was showing erro 80 Service 011E. I took out the Jetdirect 400N Card. Error went away and it started working. When I put the card back, the error 80 reapears. I don't use this printer on a network. It works fine without Jetdirect 400N cards. Is it ok to us it without the card? Or will it damage the printer in long term? Please advise. Thanks Harry

Leave the card out, no harm, just no network.
If card is fried, more likely will cause damage if you don't remove it.

If you want network connectivity, these cards can be found on ebay for as little as $10

Try removing the JetDirect card, then see if the machine will boot and print a test page. If it works without JetDirect, then try replacing the JetDirect card.

Error code EI0 1

EIO 1 is the port in the back of the printer for a JetDirect Network Card, or for the External Hard drive.

Pull the card out of the slot (turn off the power first) then turn on the printer to see if the error went away. If so, you need to replace the item you removed.

Hp laserjet 4250 error 49.4oc2 service

If the error won't go away, the printer could have a bad memory DIMM, a bad JetDirect card, a bad Firmware DIMM or a bad Formatter.

Pull out the JetDirect and power up. If the error is gone, try reseating the JD. If error reappears get the card replaced. If the error is still present after removing the JD call a tech to look at it.

Hp Laserjet 2300n printer with error 81.0180 EIO 1 ERROR

You have a problem with the device plugged into EIO slot 1. Most likely it's a JetDirect card. Turn power off and reseat the card. Power up, if problem is still there put the card in the other EIO slot. There should be 2 EIO slots. If it still fails you will have to replace the JetDirect

Can anyone tell me what an error message 82.0180 means on an HP Laserjet 4100?

Error 82.0180 means that the JetDirect Firmware is corrupted. Refer to your manual how to cold reset the JD (JetDirect) card. JetDirect card enables network printing. If problem persist after cold reset, you may need to purchase a new JD card or bring your printer to HP service center for repair.

I have unplugged and replugged, shut down and restarted my printer but the FF05 Service error prompt for my HP Lasejet4250tn wont go away. suggestions?

I have been through the service manual, and googled the FF05 error. I could not find it anywhere except with a 49 in front of it. 49.FF05.
Power off the printer and then loosen the two screws for the JetDirect card. Pull the card out about 1/2". Now power on the printer and see if the error comes back. If it doesn't, print out a config sheet. If still no error power off and plug in the jetdirect, power on and if the error comes back, get a new jetdirect card.
Now if you get the error with the jetdirect removed, remove the rear left side cover(as you stand at the rear of the printer. This will expose the formatter. Open the formatter door. There is a latch at the front of the formatter, pull it out and the door will swing open. See if you can see a memory DIMM in there. If yes, power off and then remove the DIMM or DIMMs(depending on your memory size). Power up and see if the error comes back. If yes, there is one more thing to try - NVRAM initialization before replacing the formatter. DIMMs arn't $500.
Get back to me after you try the stuff mentioned above, if you still get the error.

HPLJ P3005x Error

The HP Jetdirect embedded print server has
encountered a critical error.
● Turn the device off and then on.
● If the problem persists, contact
HP Support.

Sounds like it's more than memory failure.
