There is not a serviceable fuse as such. Try another power cord.
If that does not work...It is either a problem in the power supply or the fuse on the main connector PC board Good Luck

Lcd tv won't turn on

It is possible that there has been an internal power supply failure. The red indicator merely means power is getting to the TV.

Won't power up. Fuse not blown. Q5101 was blown, but I have replaced it. No joy.

Hi,

when you say won't power up, does it mean there is no indication of light whatsoever on the unit? If yes, then it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.
Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

Let me have a feedback if you need more info or help concerning this issue.

Yours sincerely.

VWM - 360 Model / Keeps blowing the 2A / 250 V Fuse the moment the plug goes in the outlets.

Fuses keep blowing because a semi-conductor device is acting like a piece of wire. Look in the power supply section for transistors or voltage regulators or anything like that. It might be even damaged or burned.

My vcr will accept a tape and begin to function only when there is no other electrical device plugged into the same circut. If anything is plugged in at the same time the vcr ejects the tape and wont try,...

Weird one! The only thing I can think that would cause that is that the other things reduce the load on the socket so the VCR can't get enough power to function right. Have you had an electrician check the wiring in your house and inparticular that socket? Otherwise I would guess it's a power supply problem on the VCR. It's not the fuse anyway they would just blow causing no power at all!

Unit will not power on.

One or more sections of the power supply are not coming on. This unit has both fuses and ICP's (integrated circuit protectors) in the power supply that may open up causing your symptom. You will need to check and/or replace any open fuses or ICP's. If they immediately open up again, you will need the manual to figure out what is loading the power supply, or what component in the power supply has failed.

JVC HR-S5902U / HR-S5912U S-VHS VCR POWER PROBLEM

Same problem with my HR-3911U after a power spike. Cracked open the box and as I suspected the fuse had blown. Removed fuse, plugged in and tested across connectors, 115v ac good reading. Replaced fuse (1.25a 250v) plugged in and nothing. The deck electronics had fried. Keeping for spare parts such as head and transport mech.

Time to get a new one and a better surge protector. My UPS logs show a 1200+v spike the day it died. We had storms all around us and thunder in the distance, but nothing close by and no rain, but the spike still made it to our inadequate surge protector.

I've read a lot of forums where other JVC owners have experienced the same problem. It appears to be inherent to these JVC Vcrs.

No power to unit

Hi when you switch it on does anything light up like the display or standby light if not then it is going to be the internal fuse needs replacing these are cheap to buy it is located where the powe lead goes into the unit and it is a glass fuse take it to shop to make sure you get correct fuse let me know how you get on.
If the video lights up and you get standby light or any light check that the lock function on the controll isnt activated as this will cause the controll to fail let me know how you get on ok
