Computer doesn't use Graphics Card

if it has a exclamation sign on it and it is in yellow it means the driver is missing .Even if you installed some driver it is not for this card ..If you know the card name ..and so...just go to the manufacturer's support site and download the driver for your operation system and run it again .This will fix teh issue for sure.If you have an on-board graphic card ..the driver should be on the motherboard's disk with the other drivers..if the card is separately on agp or pci ..it should have its own disk ..Always run the proper driver for the operation system you use..and exact driver for the device ..they rarely work for related models from the same manufacturer..but only sometimes..You always need to get the one for this device .and be sure when you load it that you installed it and had no errors.
Let me know if you need further assistance ..in locating the driver ..but only if you have information about the graphic card ..otherwise I don't know what to look for ..
have a nice day ..and please rate my answer..it helps my activity here !

I had new hard drive installed and now I don't know how to get to my existing MS Outlook email. It appears to be asking me to set up a new account and I'm not sure what I need to do.

I'm sorry to say that whoever installed your new disk did not copy all the info onto it. I'd take it back to them and tell them you want the old drive CLONED so you have all your old info.
My guess is you are also missing documents, pictures, games and lots more.
Hope this information will help.

Your response is very much appreciated...Thank you for using Fixya...

My computer crashed so I installed windows xp. The USB ports don't work and neither does the DVD drive

It sounds like you have not installed the chipset driver. Find your cd that came with the pc and install the chipset driver or go on line and download the latest driver.

I was told to reformat my computer. I don't know how. Can you help?

Actually, it's not recommended without know how to do it since it should be done by a professional or by an experienced engg/tech. Well, before you decide to format, you'll need a Windows cd, if you wish to install Windows xp, you'll need a Windows XP original CD or if you wish to install Windows Vista, you'll need a Windows Vista DVD, in the same way with Windows 7. Note: Formatting means wiping out everything from your computer, usually C drive so that you'll be able to install another copy of Windows, which means you'll first format the C drive and then install a new copy of Windows, without Windows being installed, you computer will never run, it's similar to a useless or dead machine. I don't mean only Windows, same conditions apply with Linux or Mac.
If you want to try yourself following the instructions, let me give you few links, but it's not a simple and short process, and I won't take the risk if you fail (this is why I'd mentioned that it's a job to be done by a pro). Here are few links from BlackViper.com regarding Installing Windows. Follow the link/s and follow the instructions, there might be several pages, so make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page/s and click "Next Page" if you are done with the first/previous page. Before you begin, please read the full tutorial/s so that you will know what exactly you're going to do with your computer. If you can still boot up your computer, make sure all the files are moved from C drive to another partition or I would recommend backing up your computer's files.
1. Windows XP install guide.
2. Windows Vista install guide.
3. Windows 7 install guide.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.

Hellou i don' know is it a motherboard or drivers but it crushes down every now and then and blue screen appears. i have to start it up manually, it doesn't restart automatically. it's 3 years in use....

Windows Blue screens are almost always Due to bad drivers If you provide the File name that is usually stated in the blue screen i can provide more information.

If you have just installed new hardware be sure to install the Drivers that came with the hard ware on the manufacturers CD.

Reinstalling drivers might clear up the Blue screens

Not sure how to use the cd burner?

Hi Kylie1, If I understand you correctly you can read from your CD drive but you can?t write (burn) to it. Just to make sure you should check the face of your CD drive and look for the letters *RW* or *Rewritable*. If you don?t see them then there is a good chance your drive is just a read-only drive. When Dell sells a PC with a CD write capable drive they usually installed a program that actually does the writing. With the OptiPlex260s it was typically a program named Roxio Easy CD. If this is the original software install it should still be there, if not then you will have to purchase or download and install one of the many freeware programs. B DeepBurner Free CD burning program: http://www.deepburner.com/?r=products If you have any more questions let us know and please don?t forget to rate the posting.
