When i put my memory stick in my psp it says that there is no memory stick inside

To play mp3 on your PSP, you'll need

• A big enough memory stick duo. The 32 Mb that comes with your psp will only fit a few songs. To really make it practical, i recommend that you try and find 1G memory stick. If you look hard enough, you'll be able to find one for about 0
• You'll also need a Mini-USB (USB A to USB Mini-B) cable or a memory stick card reader to access your memory stick from your pc.

1. Connect to your memory stick
If you are using memory card reader I assume you already know how to do this. If you are using USB cable, simply connect the cable to your PSP and Windows will detect it as a new drive.
2. Copy your music into the folder named "MUSIC" inside the "PSP" folder.
In the memory stick, there should already be a folder called "PSP", if there aren't any, you haven't been playing any games! Inside the PSP folder, find a folder named "MUSIC". If it is not there, don't worry, simply create a new one.

Now, simply copy your mp3 songs into this "Music" folder and you're done. You can also create folders inside the "MUSIC" folder and put your songs there.

Mp3 Playback Tips

• To save battery, you can turn of the screen by holding the brightness toggle button for more than 1 second.
• Press the triangle button to view other options such as repeat mode and the built-in help.

try taking it out, spraying the inside with a can of "dust off " can of pressured air and putting it back in.

try formatting the memory card via a card reader..
thats all i can think of

1.dude you can't download games legally.
2.the battery is special and the sell it in shops for games -if you ask for it the will very happily help you because it costs about 30$.
3.memory stick = pro duo (ask for it )
4.put your music in the memory stick on music folder which is inside the psp folder and play it on your psp

first you have to format the memory stick in psp using the option format inside the psp and then put it in pc and then put the pics in the picture folder in the memory stick

You probably need a new memory stick module inside the PSP. I have seen this many times in my store and we replaced the board and it worked fine. Contact your local game stores to see if they do console repairs. See if there is a Play-N-Trade within your area. I work at one and we do repairs. I'm not sure if Gamestop or Gamecrazy do repairs.

Make sure you have it in the "MUSIC"(all in caps) folder within the PSP folder of your Memory Stick.

Inside the Memory Stick's PSP's MUSIC folder, you should either have the song file itself(mp3 or wma) or no more than one folder.

I.E:
Memory Stick>PSP>MUSIC>Gwen Stefani>Don't Speak.mp3
or simply
Memory Stick>PSP>MUSIC>Don't Speak.mp3

It might be that you need to upgrade your PSP.
