Question about Lexmark X1270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Print spoolers I have a lexmark 1270. It didn't work and one of my daughters tried to fix. Now the computer (Vista) indicates that the print spooler is not there or dependency services are not there. Can it be fixed without reinstalling Vista?

In the search bar of the start menu type in "services.msc" without the quote. After hitting Enter you should get the services control panel. Ensure that the print spooler service is started and set to Automatic. If it runs into an error when trying to start it should report what service it causing the problem, ensure that service is also started and set to automatic.

I suspect it is because the print buffer in the printer is not being flushed properly and the document is sort of getting hung in limbo between the computer and printer.
the only way to clear cue is either re-start, disconnect the printer from the computer, or turn the printer off. Sometimes you may need to unplug it as well.

Printer stop printing

It could be the Print Spooler service on your computer that's not properly working. Try these steps to fix the problem:
  1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)
  2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.
  3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

I have a lexmark 1270 ( that's what it says on the printer) and the printer is on, and I go to print and nothing happens...

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot the pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Try to print again.
It could also be that the Print Spooler service on your computer has stopped. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET STOP SPOOLER" (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart the print spooler service)

4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

Spooler not running after Lexmark x83 installation on windows XP laptop

From what you're saying the windows print spooler service is not starting following the installation of your printer (and thereby you cannot print i'm assuming)

try the following to start the print spooler service if it is not already running.
Click Start
Right Click My Computer
Click Manage
Click "Services and Applications"
Click Services
Scroll down to "Print Spooler" and double click on it to open up the properties page
where it says "startup type" select automatic from the combo box list
Apply
If the service is NOT running, start it by clicking "start"
click OK

The print spooler service is started now, and **should** work properly. If the spooler is still not starting properly, then you may have a driver issue and i reccommend uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your printer.
