Conair recommends 1/3 vinegar 2/3 water and run the steamer till its half empty. Here are complete instructions
I think either solution would work though.

Does anybody have the proper cleaning method to clean the Conair GS4 fabric steamer?
I have looked and can't find the original instructions. The machine just stoped steaming &
it has not ever been cleaned. Thanks for any suggestions!

When I use mine I hang the hand held part from my closet door, while I am waiting for it to heat up. When the hose gets too much condensation, from the steam, it leaks out... This will also happen if you try to use in the motion of an iron. The hand held part needs to be at a vertical position at all time to prevent leaking.
