The TV just quit working. tried the remote, the ON button on the TV... unplugged the TV let set for several minutes... and tried agian. Still nothing. The little green light never comes on and the TV will not power up. Even tried plugging the TV into another out let that I am sure is working. Still nothing.
I used to work on TV's a long time ago but have forgotten much. Are these new TV's easy to repair? are they costly?

Re: ViewSonic N3250W will not turn on
Do you get a red standby light at all? If not, I'd look first for the standby transformer as being defective. There may also be a fuse right by the AC power cord. Look around inside and update this with your results. Post whether or not there is a standby. We'll need to go step by step on this one.

Remove the TV from the power for a few minutes, and then power on, then check the volume, effectively you have reset the set. If it still will not work, check the manual for any sleep settings etc, and work through the setup again for the channels. Now if none of that works, and it isn't a remote control issue? Then unfortunately you indeed have a problem with the set and it will need to be serviced. it will most likely be a microprocessor and ambient background noise sensor or the like, this will have to be replaced. To this end get a "Quote" from a certified repairer, and go from there? Sounds like either three things are happening - 1 check your buttons on the tv and remote to make sure the menu button isnt stuck or doesnt have pressure on it to cause this 2 - your av card is bad or 3 your tv is possessed. :-) I'd check 1 and 2 first.
This could be a problem with the tv's memory. Try resetting the TV. Unplug the unit for a few seconds (10-60). Then restore the TV to the factory default settings. Viewsonic has changed it's menus at intervals so you may have to check your manual. It may be Menu > Setup > Memory Recall or Menu > Options > Restore Default (or something slightly different). From there, click enter, use the right or left arrow to select YES, hit enter. Leave the menu system (Menu twice). Then hit Menu > Channels and rescan all channels.
An alternative cause of the problem may be a weak signal - check that your antenna is pointing right at the station and is the correct type to get the signal at the distance you are from the station. (Usually a weak signal would also have the audio breaking up but weird things can happen.)
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (who recently had a channel pair that started out with flickering signal issues and then had one channel lose video and the other audio. The memory reset and rescan resolved the problem.)
