    1) On the Main Menu, press UP or DOWN arrow to highlight More Options, then press OK.
    2) Press UP or DOWN arrow to highlight Maintenance, then press OK.
    3) Press RIGHT arrow button to open the Maintenance menu. Make sure Clean Print Head is selected, then press the RIGHT arrow button .
    4) Press OK to begin cleaning the print head.
*NOTE: The cleaning takes several seconds, during which the message 'Print head cleaning is in progress. Please wait.' appears on the screen.
    5) When cleaning is complete, you see a message asking if you want to print a nozzle check pattern. To see if the nozzles are clean, load a sheet of photo paper, then press OK to print the nozzle check.
    6) Check the pattern to see if there are any gaps in the lines. If there are gaps, press OK to clean the print head again. If there are no gaps, press Cancel to go back to the PictureMate Main Menu.

    New cartridge ?

Try head cleaning one more time, if it doesn't give you any improvements, the printer is bound for service OR warranty.

All my picture from my Epson Picturemate personal photo printer are coming out pink. I have brought a new cartridge and it is still coming out pink. Why??

Hi!
You need to run a Head Cleaning cycle so printer can get rid of the old ink from your previous cartridge. Try running it from maintenance for at least twice or try printing pictures in between cleaning cycles.
Hope this helps.

PICTURE MATE IS ONLY PRINTING THE PICTURES IN PINK

On the printer, hit the Menu button, and then the Maintenance Menu. Run the print test, and then hit "NO" when it asks you if the design is correct (even if it is.) This will send the machine to an automatic self-cleaning which ended up solving my "printing in pink" issue.

Replaced ink, nothing prints not even tests

there are two main areas of concern: A waste sponge2c905eb.jpg located just under the printhead, and which helps to park the printhead when you turn the power off, and the actual printhead itself. There are also two ribbon connectors that attach to the printhead assembly--and if one of them is not fully plugged in the exact symptoms you describe will occure.

To reach the waste sponge require the dis assembly of the upper half of the printer. I can knock it out is about 5 minutes now! I have used about 50 Q tips to soak up the ink, and manually clan the long rectangular sponge as well.

It you want I can send you pictures of my printer all torn down.

Printer is not printing clearly even with brand new cartridge

My PM 260 has been acting up by only printing only about 1" of the paper and then it will stop feeding the paper. It will eject the paper only if I exit from the computer or turn off the power on the printer and then turn it back to on. I already updated the driver (13488). Should I have it looked at by an Epson certified repair or just buy another one?
