If you use your cable internet service via an ethernet cable, basically plugged into it directly, then there is no way some one can access your internet. If you have a wireless router in your house, someone can use your router for a connection if they are within range. Unless you router is set up with a network key (password) in order to connect. A network key is set by you and only you have it, so if you set one write it down, if you lose it you will need another router in order to connect other machines in the future. Also, a network key only needs to be entered into a computer once, it's not a password that is entered every time you log on, the network configuration in the computer remembers it. Now keep in mind that "hackers" aren't interested in individuals (unless you're a major corporate ceo or somthing), and even if somebody does access the internet through your service that they cannot access or see anything on your computer that you don't allow them to see or access, that security is built in. Don't let Dateline scare you about "hackers", I saw that episode and they made a mountain out of a mole hill, bad. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I was wondering how to turn my wireless internet on to my laptop .. it a compaq evo n610c

Sup guys i found the cure to this horroble blue screen death for this N610c. Ok i called hp and they wanted $69.99 for tech support well just imagine what i told them to do lol. Anyway i did my research and guess what i found out. That the updated driver is made to screw up your connection so that you have to call tech support and they can steal your money.
Im a computer technician since 1990 and what i discover was that beautiful driver that works here is a list of drivers that cannot be used on the Evo N610C because it causes conflits that no one can fix i know for sure.
List of the no no drivers are:
These drivers will make your screen go from windows to BLUE.
ap29156
sp28252
sp29156
Here is how i fixed the problem i deleted everything that had to do with LANMultiport drivers every single one then i searched my laptop to remove the rest of the lost files.
Once that was done the i installed this driver (sp23031)
Once that was installed and the puter rebboted the wifi card found my wireless connection and asked me to input my Network Key and walla it works great now without any problems.
Im using windows XP Home i just bought memory cause im installing windows 7 32 bit.

Finally the key is this driver (sp23031) for both home and pro eddition.
Here is the link to download your driver:

It works! Please feedback thanks

Its not the problem with the keyboard or the mouse
it seems that you need the full system scan..
of if you have wired keyboard and mouse connect them to the computer and check using them with the same browsers ... which will determine where the problem is ?

if the wireless keyboard and mouse are working fine
then need to update the drivers
or there is some problem Hack / Virus scan (not sure) but don't worry it could be a magnetic effect of speakers or monitor
you have to check them out

I have a WRT54G ver.6. Was working fine until I went fron DSL to Broadband(cable) Now system won't connect. ???????

Are you attempting to use the device as a router or a switch?  Because if when you switched to cable you got a new router with it this device may be trying to steal this devices capabilities. Im assuming there are five ports, one to plug the Internet into and another to plug in the devices you wish to connect. Try plugging the Internet Ethernet cable (directly from your cable modem) into one of the four device ports and NOT the singular Internet port.

Ssid network

The SSID setting is part of the DLink wireless setting.
To configure the DLInk wireless/router from new, you may need to connect the DLink wireless/router the laptop with a 10baseT cable, then open your browser and enter the URL address http:/192.168.0.1 The default login = admin, no password required. Unless you have previously altered the default settings.
You should configure the DLink wireless with a different SSID from the default one and set it up with encryption preferrably WAP.
You should also setup a password for the admin login, so to prevent someone from hacking into your wireless/router to change your settings and steal your Internet access.
You would need to setup the wireless card in the laptop to have the same wireless/router settings eg. SSID and encryption.
You can now remove the LAN cable and connect to the Internet by wireless.
All this information is in your manual.

Netgear WPNT834 wireless not working

Hi Ashdan

channel 6 is very common with 2.4ghz wireless phones. Try changing the channel to a different one ie. 2 to -5 is rarely used so i suggest one of those. Also WEP is very insecure and easily hacked. If the only risk is people stealing your internet then i suggest you use MAC filter as the most secure way and turn off wep. This will make your router and internet surfing experience even faster.

good luck
