Re: my ipod touch wont connenct to the internet
Go to Start>Run and type 'http://192.168.10.1', a logon screen appears. User name is: motorola, Password is: admin. A webpage appears which is the router control panel. Now you can talk to your router. If you are using cable broadband then use DHCP, for DSL use PPPoE. All of your Basic, LAN, Wireless, Status, Gaming, Security and Firmware updates are here. For more info and manuals/downloads for your router go here: http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/support/default.asp?supportSection=DiscontinuedProducts

Connects over the last Wi-Fi network you used that's available.
If no Wi-Fi networks you've used are available, iPod touch will scan for Wi-Fi networks and show a list of Wi-Fi networks in range. Tap a network and, if necessary, enter the password to join. Networks that require a password show a lock icon () next to them.
Option to manually enter your Wi-Fi network name/SSID (if the Wi-Fi network is configured not to broadcast or be displayed to the public). If necessary, enter the password to join.
When iPod touch is connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon () in the status bar at the top of the screen shows connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.
Turn Wi-Fi on or off. Choose Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on or off.
Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new Wi-Fi network. When you are trying to access the Internet, by using Safari or YouTube for example, and you are not in range of a Wi-Fi network you have previously used, this option tells iPod touch to look for another network. iPod touch will display a list of all available Wi-Fi networks that you can choose from. Networks that require a password appear with a lock icon ().
If "Ask to Join Networks" is turned off, you must manually join a network to connect to the Internet when a previously used network is unavailable.
Choose Wi-Fi and turn "Ask to Join Networks" on or off. If you turn "Ask to Join Networks" off, you must join new networks manually.
Join a Wi-Fi network manually. Choose Wi-Fi, wait a moment as iPod touch detects networks in range, then choose a network. If necessary, enter a password and tap Join. Networks that require a password appear with a lock icon.
Make iPod touch forget a network, so that the device doesn't join it automatically. Choose Wi-Fi and tap the arrow () next to a network you've joined before. Then tap "Forget this Network."
Connect to a closed Wi-Fi network (an available Wi-Fi network that isn't shown in the list of scanned networks). Choose Wi-Fi, then tap Other and enter the network name. If the network requires a password, choose Security, tap the type of security the network uses, and enter the password. You must already know the network name, password, and security type to connect to a closed network. Some Wi-Fi networks may require you to enter or adjust additional settings, such as a client ID or static IP address. Ask the network administrator which settings to use.
Adjust settings to connect to a Wi-Fi network Choose Wi-Fi, then tap the arrow () next to a network.
1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then (turn WiFi on)
2. Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new network:Choose (WiFi) and turn (Ask to Join Networks) ON or OFF.
Then you'll need to join a WiFi network (your D-Link for instance)
1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then wait until your D-Link shows up in the list of networks.
2. Select your network and if you have a password for your router make sure you type it. (networks that require a password have a lock icon next to it) then tap (join)
Once you join a WiFi network manually, iPod touch will automatically connect to it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPod touch joins the one last used.
When iPod touch is connected to a WiFi network, the WiFi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows the connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.
Its a relatively simple process to enable internet on your Ipod. To do this you are going to need a little bit of information. You'll need: your routers Broadcast name (SSID), and your WEP or WPA/2 password.
If broadcasting your
ssid, choose from the 'choose a network' list.
Tap 'security' if you
are using security and select your security type.
Tap the 'other network'
button to get back to network setting.
Type in your security
password, which is your key in your wireless modem setting.
(*Important: if your using WEP security type, you must use key 1 from
your wireless modem setting. If your using WPA or WPA2 security types
then use the WPA Passphrase)
Click 'join' after you
have typed in your security password.
Your network name (ssid) should show in 'choose a network'
with a check mark next to it.
If there are any more problems feel free to get in touch.
You must have your wireless profile's name and passkey. Try resetting your router, then make sure you create a new profile for your desktop and take note of the details (ie name, WEP/WPA Key) Should work just fine if you follow the steps.
i had the same problem too with my'n. My issue was on of my setting's was set to block that wi-fi connection. Try switching your setting for finding internet connection from automatic to manual. that should do the trick!
ok do this if it is already showing your router up on your portable device but it has that security lock and you are unable to join or need a password which u dont know lol go to that network and on the top push forget this network. than go back and click on for other location. than for the name put in your router name usually 5 characters long make sure u use capitalization cuz its case sensitive. than select what kind of key u have it should say right on the side of your wireless router. than type the key in usually a wep key and u should be set to join it if it doesnt auto matically do soo
im no sure wa kind of router i have, bu iam sure that i have the right password and i comes up with the networks i could connec to and i try connecting to my home 1 and it comes up "unalbe to connect to this network" my sis or my mum can connect either we all have ipod tocuhes and its getingfustrating. can any one help?
