Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Razr will not allow me to answer call if the flip is open, on/off button still works

Where are the flex cable connections? When I press all keys except the on/off this message pops up "voice record memory full". The on/off key still functions by clearing missed calls, etc. I do not know what caused this to occur.

If you are planning to remove the connecters which are located on the lcd and main-board you should not play around with it unless you are comfortable taking apart the phone...so you should take the phone to a mobile service center and have them fix the phone for you.

The phone works, recieves and makes calls but both screens are dead???? verizon motorola razr v3

How about the buttons next to the screen? If you do not hear anything when you press those buttons, it is going to be the flex cable. The flex cable connects the phone between the hinge. It connects the 2 displays (it's really one display part with both screens, it has a screen on the front and back).

Basically you have the most common problem with the RAZR, the screen part connects to the bottom via the flex cable and is partially damaged or has ben severed. Not terribly hard to fix but you would need someone who can take it apart and who can get the part as well.

Buttons don't work

This is a common problem, it has to do with the keypad flex. either the connector on the top part of your phone is unpluged or your flex is damaged. Open the top of the phone where the screen is at (4 torx screws) genlty remove the cover. you will see two connectors, one that goes to the camera, the other is the one you want. genlty pry it off upwards, I would also clean it with some IPA (rubbing alcohol) and a brush, re-connect it pushing down firmly, you will fill it when it connects. if it doesnt work, you can purchase a new flex, if you need repair help, let me know I can try to repair

Motorola razr

YOU NEED TO FLASH A NEW FLEX VERSION. TRY TO TURN ON YOUR MOTOROLA BY PRESSING * # AND RED KEY AT THE SAME TIME TO GET IN BOOT LOADER VERSION. YOU ALSO NEED THE USB CABLE THAT CONNECTS MOTOROLA AND PC THEN DOWNLOAD THE FLASHBACKUP PROGRAM. ABOUT THE FLEX VESRION DOWNLOAD THE FILE FROM MOTOX SITE. BUT FIRST WRITE DOWN THE BOOTLOADER, THE FLEX VERSION ALREADY HAS AND THE S/W VERSION SO TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FLEX.

Keypad frozen, still receives calls

Hi, You don't need 2 flash your razr for this problem. What u need is a screen flex cable. The three buttons around the screen are controlled by a flex cable and the voice recorder is connected on this flex cable. This needs replacing but it's very tricky to deal with. I suggest a really good tech that deals with razr's to handle this problem to possibly replace the flex cable. This would solve yor frozen keypad problem. SAM !

Broken phone!!

Saw quite a few of these. Have you tried taking the battery and Sim out while the phone is still on? did you try to flash your firmware on your Razr? there is one firmware will mess up your keypad, but all you have to do is apply keypad flex and it will work again. A friend recently updated his firmware and had to re-apply flex, works fine now. Good luck!
