I have an acer aspire L3600 pc, and the dvd rom isnt working, it isnt even showing up on the Computer page, and under device manager it just says device not working (code 10) and when i press find...

Try to remove it under device manager and restart the laptop. If the same problem occurs, the driver for the CD rom isn't installed yet. Better call the Acer tech support for possible part replacement.

I want to purchase a dvd burner for my aspire 3680

It is unclear to me whether your system will support a DVD burner. This is something that is influenced by the BIOS of a PC.

I found two places where your model is discussed, the first would seem to imply that the 3680 will support it:

http://www.fixya.com/support/t264099-acer_aspire_3680_could_not_load_dvd

The 2nd , from: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-3680-2682-Aspire/dp/B000UHXK8C

upgradeable to 2 GB DVD-Combo optical drive CD and DVD-ROM compatibility and lets you burn up to 700 MB of data on CD-R/RWs for easy backups

doesn’t seem to indicate that it can be added.

Look at your manual to see if your machine has a flash BIOS that can be upgraded. If so, it would be wise to go to the Acer website and download the latest BIOS version before you plan on adding a DVD burner.

Replace Monitor

You may google under option more and then under products search by typing Screen Aspire 3680-2682 or you may go to www.ebay.com and type the same thing and there you may find used ones.
