Don't know if this applies to Toshiba but Xerox machines have the same annoying problem, which is NOT fixable.Xerox machines are used in the EEC who insist that power save is not resettable only able to be set to 120mins max Gotta save the power y'know!

You can try this solution: When the printer is in the Power Save Mode is to press the
number "1" key on the printer. For some people, it comes out of power save mode.
To Turn off Powersave Mode Permanently:
Using The Printers Control Panel
1. Press # and # at same time. 2. Then press 1, 2, 7, 4 in sequence. 3. Go to Underware menu. (This is the first menu that pops up after enter that sequence) 4. Go to System menu. 5. Look for System Mode Time Out and set value to 0 and press OK. 6. Press Cancel to return to the main screen.
The power saver mode can not be turned off. This feature is designed for you to save energy on power consumption and reduce impact to the environment. You can easily adjust the time on when you want the power saver mode engaged. Press Setup > Device Setup > Power Saver. You can set it to activate after 240 minutes at most.
you need to go into the additional functions setting and change the power save setting to 4 hrs... it won't shut of and go into power save mode unless it hasn't been used for 4 hrs strait. i don't belive there is a way to turn the power save mode off completly that is the best you can do.
The default password is either 12345 or 123456.
If neither of those work then, turn machine off then power on while pressing the 0 & 8 keys then enter 263, then press Start. It will then display the Admin Password.
Hold down the 0 and 8 keys while turning on the copier. Keep on holding down the keys until the screen shows a adjustment mode screen. Once it does this key in 205 then you should see a numeric value. Input 15 and press start to lock it in This will change you power saver mode to 60 minutes. Next enter code 206. Key in 19 and press start. This will change your sleep mode to 240 minutes. These are the setting that are most generally used when these copiers are initially set up. Then just turn the copier off and back on. I hope this resolves your problem.
when the machine goes into energy save mode it will still receive faxes. (energy save is a low power mode the copier is still on and can accept faxes, print jobs and copy jobs)
however if the machine goes to auto shut off it will not. (auto shut off will after a set amount of time turn the power switch on the copier to the off position and the copier can not be used until it is turned back on.)
you need to turn the copier off, hold down 0 & 8 and turn on then type in 206 press start, key in 20 press set then turn the copier off and back on. this will make sure that auto power off is not enabled.
it is hard disk trouble. First enter in service mode (pressing 08 while turn on the power) next, type 690 and set to 2, click enter and wait the "reboot the machine" message, then turn off and on again
