I have no manual. When i hit clean nothing happens. Help. A little hesitant because of gas

This is the manual for a Whirlpool oven, Page 14 has the self clean instructions. Your unit may have a manual latch that initially locks the oven door close and as the clean process starts a second lock is activated preventing the door from being opened.

The second link is an article that describes pros and cons of using the self clean cycle. My experience has been on three occasions that repairs have been necessary after the self clean process so I do not recommend using it.

How do I stop and open door in the self cleaning?I have a hugh mess in the oven I clean the extra stuff on the bottom what happens if it starts fire and I can not shut off and open the door.

Large spots should be cleaned BEFORE starting self clean..The self clean can not be "paused" and continued..It has to be shut down and re started..

I have an electric wall-mount double Whirlpool self cleaning accubake oven. Can't fnd my manual, so I don't have the model number. It is 9 years old. Put on self clean feature, and it shorted out, and...

If you can see through a grill just above the door, then you might can see the lock linkage, and get something to push the linkage over (be sure to disconnect power first.).

If you can't, you'll need to pull the unit out from the cabinet and access it from the top.

The problem is often a thermal fuse in the top of the oven. But if you can provide more detail info on the oven, I can investigate further.

Unlocking Oven controls

According to the manufacturer's website you should only need to Press and hold the "Lock" key for 5 seconds. A single tone will sound and the "Loc" will disappear off the display.
