Question about IBM ThinkPad A21m 2628 Notebook
I have installed Windows 98 on my Thinkpad A21m. All drivers are working and fine, according to the Panel Control listing. No errors..
However, when I start my laptop and then try to access My Computer, my laptop locks up... can do nothing unless I restart..
I have no problem with access My Computer if I first click on Internet Explorer, which then will bring up my internet page via DSL internal ethernet connection. From there, I can then type C: in the address line, which then will take me to the C: director and it contents.. There is where I can access My Computer folder...
What can be causing this problem and how do I fix it? I reloaded Win 98 twice and still the same problem...
First off this machine wasn't really designed for Windows 98. Here's a couple of links that may help. The first is for a bios update to fix a few system bugs. Keep in mind that the bios are VERY important and you don't want to screw them up, so, either download and create a diskette or download and save to the desktop before running. The second is for A21 drivers. You may want to download any utility drivers that run with Windows 98. Your current drivers may be for 2000 or XP, and may be creating a conflict.
