When I power the unit on the standby light flashes green, the fan turns on and after about a minute the standby light turns orange and teh lamp light flashes red. This unit has done this with the current bulb and a brand new bulb.

I have had the exact same problem. I replaced the bulb, I get a green flasher for 1- 2 minutes, then is shuts down and the red "LAMP" indicator comes on.

Same problem with a Panasonic PT-LB10NTU properly replace the bulb with a new (very expensive) bulb and the green light and fan comes on for a minute or so then then the red light starts flashing.

I have the same problem with the PT-LB10VE version, tried two projectors and a new replacement bulb

Bought my PT-LB10VU brand new in early 2005 and used it once. It sat in a cabinet until February 2009. We'd forgotten we had it, actually. But when we fired it up, it flashes green, then to steady green but no light, then repeats flashing green, then lamp indicator flashes red! Thinking maybe the bulb (with less than 10 hours on the machine) might have been jostled or something, we bought a very expensive replacement. Same problem. Hasn't anybody figured this out yet? How could power supply or ballast go bad with so few hours on the machine?

OK...can anyone tell me how I can test a thermosensor? The repair manual has taken me to this step, but I'm stumped at this point.

It seems there could be a number of problems causing this. For the PT-LB10 series, there's a service manual at

It sounds like your lamp may need replacing. Before you go that route try all of these:
-Make sure the lamp cover on the bottom is fully attached. -If you unplug the power cord while the fan is rotating, the lamp may not turn on about 1 minute when you plug the power cord next time. After the status indicator stops blinking press the power button to turn it back on. May have to press it multiple times. -If your Power Light continues to blink red/green then you should contact your dealer.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Replaced both bulbs with brand-new bulbs. Now all

Verify that the lamp doors are securely closed. The blinking red lights indicate a lamp problem. In this case, both appear to be defective. I doubt that the lamps are the problem. double chack all connections and doors for proper seating. Update this if the problem remains.

Thanks,
Dan
