I called the Hoover main office today to ask for a replacement operators manual for our V5 steamer vacuum. I was told by this sad sounding woman that they had no manuals and told me to call my local rep. He had none either, but after a little more research I found a Hoover store a bit further away and they were able to tell me the right model number to download the manual.
If you go to Hoover.com, look for the local Service center locator under service and support. I'm sure you can find one that has the answer you are looking for

I need to know what compartments to put the water in, and to put the cleaning solution in.

Hi There,

The Larger compartment is for the clean water, and the secondary tank attached to the larger tank in the back of it is where the shampoo goes. This machine is handy as it will automatically mix the two solution tanks together for you.

Feel free to reply if you have any other questions. Thanks,

I have a Model F7431-900 and is a SteamVac V2. When I press the trigger for water or cleaning solution, the water just runs right through it even after releasing the trigger. What kind of problem do I...

This sounds like a stuck solenoid. The Dual V models use solenoids to contol soap and water flow to the floor, along with a pump unit. If your unit is 12 months or less it is under warranty. I am not sure about the cost of the solenoid.

Brushes donot turn when asked to shampoo

The brushes are turning by an air driven turbine. The turbine has a pivot bushing made of steel inside of it that gets rusty because of the water that is running through it. The turbine will have to be replaced. You can find a genuine hoover replacement part by following the link below.

Vac not sucking up water

its supposed to, it means you need to dump out the tank. Its a safety feature that keeps the water out of the motor. if its lifting up due to foaming, than try using the original brand shampoo

Hoover V2 SteamVac

Under the detergent side, there is a metering plate,(located on the machine) which can be removed. ensure that this is installed. have you verified whether the machine will dispense detergent only without any water in the water tank?

Water and shampoo run out with the trigger in the off position

From your description, you have a problem with your one of the solenoids that may be stuck open. this would require a shop repair.

Hoover Steamvac Widepath 6500 leaks

You didn't give your model number, but if this is a V2, you may have a crack in the tank, alot of times it is underneath the seal on the bottom. Or the plunger at the bottom of the tank is stuck open or missing.
