Hp 2010i monitor shaky, can't find degauss option

I don't think degaussing your monitor is going to help with this issue. Degaussing mainly addresses color correction around the monitor edges due to a magnetic field and applies to CRT monitors not LCD monitors which yours is. If by your term "shaky" you mean the image is unstable, then the problem is either in the main board which controls the X Y sync or with the power supply board. If you are knowledgeable with electronics you could probably repair this at home for $40 or less. If not then I would shop for another monitor to replace yours. Don't throw your old monitor away, instead post it for sale on craigslist. There are a lot of do it yourself type people who will buy this either for parts or to repair and resell. I don't know what it will bring as far as cash, might be $40 might be $5 but anything is better than zero.

C 700 unstable video

Maybe the video is saying goodbye. Were the problem only with the LCD the suspect might be the video connector, but having troubles with both External and Internal displays, the video card is the common denominator.

My monitor is flashing 'Auto Adjust in Progress.' Why?

When you have strange symptom it will more likely to be unstable power supply problem. Just to be sure you should try it on another PC first before taking it apart.

Monitor does not turn on

It would be good to know what make and model of monitor you have, this info can usually be found on the back on a label. It sounds to me as if the standby circuit has an issue. if you feel up to the job you could dissasemble it and take a look at the internal fuse, the actual switch mechanism itself and any capacitors on the board for the power circuitry. Pictures would allow me to help you more

Shaky/Unstable Picture

This is power supply issue, one or more of your filter capacitors either bursted and/Or over heats (this is why it becomes better when system cools down after turning it off for 1/2 hour..You have two choices.1. buy a replacement power supply may set you back a couple hundred dollars but it will be plug and play. 2nd you can replace these filter capacitors make sure the can handle 105 deg celsius not the 85 deg. celsius, if you know how to trace the bad ones and desolder and solder new ones on the power supply board, or hire a techinician to replace them for you. Good Luck...
