Question about Samsung HLP4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV

Lamp on no picture or sound

There is no sound or picture but the lamp is on. None of the buttons work. After unplugging it and letting it set same problem. It always turns the lamp on and the lamp light flashes and then stops like it should. The remote affects the led on the tv it flashes when buttons are pushed.

    1. I have the same problem with my 46in. DLP SAMSUNG purchase in 06. The cause is from a digital board which if repaired it will cost you in neighbor of $600.00 to $700.00 from a TV repair shop.

    Same issue, The lamp is on but no sound or picture. The lamp stays on unless I unplug the tv. Then the lamp led light flashes for about 20 secs then goes off. None of the buttons on the remote works. When you press any of them, the "timer" led light flashes. Why would the circut board go bad for no reason?

Do the ballast first. That should get the picture back. The main board controls everything else.

unplug it, and let it set for a minute or 2, then try it again...if it does it again hit the power button again to turn it back on...also once the the tv turns on make sure you reset the counter for the bulb..that will also cause problems...to reset the counter press the (-) volume on the tv while holding down the (-) press spilt,pip on the reomte...the lamp will reset and the indicator will go out

Replaced lamp, sound but no picture

Try unplugging the set for 5 minutes and then replug it in, allow 70 seconds for it to boot up (LED stops blinking). See if it works then. If not press the input/device button and menu button at the same time read a 2 digit code (blinking led) flashes first # short pause and the flashes 2nd #. This will be necissary to determine your cause. Most common besides lamp is power supply caps that cause intermittant operation.

>>The first thing to do is a system reset using the recessed button on the front panel.
>>If that does not work, unplug the set and let it sit overnight
SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item like the end point of a paperclip
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
