    a couple of questions please...

    1) is your wi-fi built into the mothboard or is it on an expansion card that fits into the PCI slot on your motherboard ?

    2) if the answer is yes for the motherboard BIOS settings to insure it is enabled, if not enable it.

    press F10 save and exit

let your computer restart, your O/S will notice the new hardware and add the driver to make it work.

you will be guided by the program it's self.

if you do have a wi-fi adapter card, well in the BIOS turn off onboard wi-fi enabled.

    press f10 save and exit

    let the computer restart

the O/S will notice the new hardware and prompt you to install the driver for the device.

find task manager in your control panel, you will have to see if the O/S is seeing the wi-fi, if not you will have to go tell the O/S what it is and install the driver.

I hope this is of some use to you...let me know how you get on..

Did you enter the security key (password)? It may be your laptop? Try resetting the D-Link to default settings and connecting to the laptop. They reconfigure the SSID and Security Key. Write down the info for future use. Here's a user Manual: http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/home-solutions/connect/routers/dir-600-wireless-n-150-home-router

If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wirelessconnection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptopprobably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and thenclick Repair.

My new laptop doesn't work

To connectyour computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh networklist, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connectto your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Keybefore allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This NetworkKey is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used toconfigure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way tosetup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

How to connect wifi with acer laptop

Any wireless router will work. You just have to find the router’s signal on your computer (and sign in to the network potentially).
Your laptop should have a built in wireless card. If it doesn’t, you won’t be able to wirelessly use the internet until you do. I’m assuming you are using Windows.
Click Start at the bottom of the screen, the open your Control Panel. Select the category Network and Internet Connections.
There should be a wireless network setup wizard in there, and will help guide you through the process of setting everything up.
Good luck!

If i am helpful please rate me.
Thank you.

Can't connect to my home network using remote assistance with my laptop.

You don't mention what operating system you're on, and network configurations are various, but I would suggest following microsoft's guidelines for 'remote access to network'.
Here is a link to resources and another that will help you set up your network correctly for remote access, and one example: click here or here, and a troubleshooter.
If that's all too much, perhaps this link or this link will help you sort it out.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
