Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

DVD trouble When playing a DVD the picture becomes fixed on the TV screen for a short time then resumes playing and moving. This happens to DVD's we have watched other times without any problem. It is happening on brand new DVD's also. We have cleaned the discs well before inserting them into the player, this does not improve the situation.

I am having issues with my RCA Scenium D52W135D (playstation 3 connection). Recently, I have been having a very specific problem with this combo. I have it connected using HDMI to a Pioneer receiver...

Had the same problem. With mine the other day you probably moved your Playstation 3 too another tv and set your 1080i,720,480 to high deaf on settings in Playstation. You have to change them back to automatic that TV says HDTV but it only plays Playstation 3 on 480 checked in settings of Playstation. Played mine for 4 years on that TV moved and got a 3d wifi then dad got him one And was going to trash that RCA but I told him I would take it for now too keep from buying another TV at this time got it in my new home wouldn't play video but it. would sound tried different cables but still now change. But remembered i changed all of my settings over when I got 3D TV. Playstation 3 hadn't been on know other TV. Since I owned it but that RCA now won't work then came to me last night and playing it on both TVs but you have to change the settings on it before moving it or you cant see the screen to fix it do that guarantee it will fix it. Like you said everything else works PS 1,PS 2,DVD, cable, but PS 3 won't its the settings in theme, and audio.

Good day!!!

Sorry but I can't see any previous questions from you to my email but anyways lets proceed to your problem..

If you are watching TV shows and the picture is ghosting kindly try to play a DVD movies or anything that having video on your DVD if the picture is fine when you play a DVD movies your TV is in good condition you don't have to worry about..If the picture is fine when you play a DVD let me know and I will give you next step of troubleshooting..

However if you play a DVD but still picture is ghosting there something wrong with your TV..

If you are using DVR then when you back to TV it become ghosting..It is possible that you hit the wrong button on remote..you can also try to restore factory settings to correct all possible wrong set up and also to to auto scan your TV to get back all channels clearly..

Hope it helps..

Red glare on screen and seems that paused script is burned into screen.

Hello
This is anormal fault to all flat panel tVs. If a still picture is paused for a long duration of time, itd image will seem to appear on the secreen even after that picture has been moved away from it. In some cases, this fault will be retified with time. There is no repair for this fault. Just input any plain white screen signal input to it, and let it be there for at least 15 minutes or so. If the fault has not been rectified by this, the screen may need repalcement.
As your set is almost new one, and will be within warranty period, just cusult to the service center for any remedy. Never tell them the cuse for this fault, as you have made it by yoursef (eventhough they knows the cuse). OK.

Picture distortion

check the settings on the dvd as if you set the dvd to 4:3 format for instance, the picture will be "squashed" to a letter box format and when you play on wide screen it will become "morphed" and mishaped. also if the tv is set to wide all the time, then this will cause a stretching effect. set the tv to auto picture size or "smart" as it is on sony's, with auto 16:9 on.

No video from dvd

You could possibly have a faulty set of RCA cables. Happens all to often. Change your RCA cables (Red,White,Yellow). And make sure they are inserted good. If problem still presists. you could have a short in your inputs on either you dvd player or your t.v.

Unable to retrieve picture on TV

when the screen becomes snowy, it means that something in the cable box is being overheated. what you should do is take a small desk fan and hold it beside the cable box. this has happened many times when my family has played on their xbox 360, and the desk fan solved this problem. i hope that this helps!

We keep losing sound and picture on our TV

If you haven't replaced the lamp, it is almost certainly time to change it. A weak lamp will cause the TV to play for a short time. As the old weak lamp heats up, it draws more current, and the reflector in the lamp, having become cloudy over time, converts the light into more heat rather than reflected it out into the set. Eventually the lamp draws too much current and the set turns it off, going into a restart cycle. Buy an original Sony lamp, as the aftermarket replacement lamps are known trouble makers. Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!

Dvd -no picture

Sometimes the displays can't be sent to another tv or monitor. Make sure that isn't turned on. Sometimes there can be a short in the wiring if your unit folds up to play like a notebook computer. You can try moving the screen back and forth and see if the picture changes. If neither of these solutions work, contact audiovox and see if it is cover under warranty.

Green line on TV with DVD playing

The aspect ratio is fine, I just fixed mine you have to use the TV remote, and press the left or right directional button depending on where the green line. Philips TV offsets the picture when using HDMI, but its easily fixable using this remedy. Time to take the tape off haha!
