Im sorry ho hear that vista is not playin fair ,as we all know any service pack rewrites windows program if you uninstall i it might get messed up . go to compaq website and locate main motherboard drivers that will be compatible with vista and sp1 ?
there will also be a sound driver that will be compatable with vista with sp1 download this also and try ? by the way the sound system you are using is made by ? logitec or who and how do you plug it into computer usb or rca jack now if you are pluging into the front of computer jacks try plugging into the back . do you have a pci addin sound card or is your sound card integrated on the motherboard important need to know ok get back with some positive information please good luck and please dont uninstall service packs without reading up on proceedure good luck waiting on response

After installing the HP H8000 Wireless Headset the notebook internal speakers are not working on my HP ENVY dv6

When connecting a headset or any other audio device to a laptops 3.5mm audio jack, it is designed to stop the internal speakers and run only from Headphones.

If you mean that even after disconnecting the Headphones the internal speakers are still not working, ensure that the headphone jack does not have anything lodged in it, any metal object can trick the laptop into thinking there are headphones connected, cutting the internal speakers out.

Try getting a DRY cotton bud, and clean out the port with that, this will get rid of anything that may be triggering the problem.

Hi,
Please ensure that your bios setting is enabled for audio.
1. Have you installed the correct windows 7 driver or have you configured with the vista driver?
2. If you have installed with windows 7 driver, check it for 32 bit or 64 bit and you are installed perfectly!
3. Check the windows service. Go to "run", type "services.msc" and press enter. In that opened window, direct to "windows audio". Open it and check the service is started or not. Also ensure that the startup type is set to be "automatic".
Hoping you will be short out!

HI there i can listen to sound when i have headset on but my speakers are not working i have a compaq presario c 700 notebook, please help, thanks in advance.

The sound is routed to the speakers or headphones by a small switch in the headphones jack - in your case that switch has failed. You will have to open the laptop and replace the entire jack so take it to a repair shop, this is a delicate job, leave it to the experienced ones.

No sound from headphones. Speakers work. Win7

Please clarify, Where is the Headphones connected? Front or back? if you tried it on the Front port without success, Plug in the speaker jack to the port where you did connect the Headphone and verify it's working or not. You can also try the headphone on the port where the speaker is connected.

Awaiting.

Speakers work but not headset. Plugging into

If there is not a separate jack for speakers and headset, then you will have to unplug the speakers and then plug the headset into that jack. Some motherboards only have one audio output.

How can I use the microphone on my headset? I have a Windows Vista and cant find the audio device.

Go to control panel and audio settings. Go to the voice tab and you can set the audio settings for your headset. If you have a sound card on the computer, the microphone jack is light pink and the sound jack is usually orange or green. Green is the color of the front channels and is usually shared with the headphones by using a splitter. The orange color of the headphone jack on some headphones is indicative of an aux. output such as the center back speakers of a 7.1 surround setup. If you have a USB set up, make sure to load the drivers and follow the prompts.

Headphone jack not working.

If you have a headphone jack at the front and the back, it may be a wire to the front panel is not connected properly on the Motherboard.
