Question about Haier hwr10xc6 Air Conditioner
In 2001 I purchased 2 Model HWF07XCA Window AC.I installed one and put the other upstairs in the box it came in unopened until last month. The ac in my room gave out so I took the AC out of the box after it sat since2001. It work Ok For a month but now makes a noise like gurgling or like a wheel fan running through water.THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE COMPRESOR kicks in, It slowly decreases and goes away. The unit seems to cycle ,that is the compresor,on and off too much,Has the fact that the AC sat in its carton and was not removed for seven years caused this problem ?
The sound that you are hearing is the refrigerant moving through the system. That can be a very normal sound. If you are not experiencing any other issues I think it is ok.
I can't believe that just sitting in a box can harm it. If it was stored in an upright condition, you should be fine. The system has oils in the compressor. So if it was stored upside down or something then the compressor could have run dry. This is usually ok if the unit returns to an upright position for a day or so before it is run.
